Is this different from a soul mate? & how do they differ from karmic relationships?
what in the chart (natal, synastry or transiting) can indicate meeting the twin flame?

I am especially interested in transiting info on meeting the twin flame...

A twin flame starts as an idea you get about a person when the synastry, composite, and transits all come together to make you feel euphorically in love and believing that it will never end.

Sometimes it ends, that's how you know it wasn't a twin flame. I think you have to be really really old to know for sure if it's a twin flame, having weathered a bunch of storms together.

(This is not an official answer, of course, just me sounding skeptical and a bit jaded. )

To me Soul mates are the ones that teach us HARD lessons, but good lessons. When we have been taught most we need to know we are ready to meet out Twin Flame so that we together can evolve and make world a better place.

From what I understand twin flames are very karmic sometimes even if you encounter your twin flame sometimes you are not meant to unite together in this lifetime so it just falls apart usually from circumstances out of their own control.
Basically they leave their mark on you for this entire lifetime even if it seems very short and insignificant.
