Do they bring events or personality traits characteristic for the planet? Or both? What about the sign? If it's, for example, Neptune in Sagittarius, does that mean the fire element is expressed in a Neptunian way? But how would that work? Neptune is a watery planet.

All I know (or think I know) is that the planet tends to be very prominent in that person... By house and sign, and aspects are really crucial too.

I've known several Neptune singletons and they all had an artistic vibe, some were actually musicians or at least enjoyed art. Oh, and! Many, many actors have Neptune singleton, as well. I've noticed that.

^ So have I. Actors and musicians.

Those singletons stand out a lot. They draw a lot of attention to the house they're in. I have one in my 11th and team work in a group, fitting in and having a nice social circle are very important to me. The internet (another 11th house thing) really helped me find more people on my level.

If the aspects stand out, would that count for my Pluto square as well? Even minor aspects from my Sun?

^ I have Pluto singleton in the 11th and I've noticed that, even though I value my friends, my friendships are constantly changing tones. A lot of them end either because we drift away or abruptly from a clash we can't move past.

Other than that, I've no idea what having Pluto singleton in Scorpio stands for.

Meissieri,

I'd count the major aspects especially; the square up to 8° maybe. Minor aspects are... well, they're felt, but usually not dramatically, unless they're tied into a bigger pattern maybe.
I can definitely sense the 11H emphasis in you! mhm.

Filleaspirant (oh that sounds French btw )

I've known people with Pluto in 11H and they're quite intense in friendship... maybe too much for my Saturn 11H. I can only imagine what a Pluto singleton in 11H would be like, haha. Are you possessive of friends? Or feel like you get very close and intimate with friends really fast? It can definitely point to some clashes between you and friends...

Mars in aries singleton
inconjunct pluto in scorpio singleton.
LOL

Honestly I'm only gentle with my pets and children... since SN in cancer activates my parental mode.
I can be nice if I like someone but most of the time I'm whatever and say what I feel to people Im different to.

Like I would the one to turn around and glare at annoying people talking during a lecture... LOL one time people were webcaming in front of me during an important test review and I flicked them off because they were distracting me LOL.

So I can be pretty harsh but I've kinda cooled down over the years.

Mine is Neptune in the second house. Water singleton.
Mine brings events and it's in my personality, both. It brings about challenging circumstances where I sink or float, depending on how I handle things. My life is wrought with Neptunian themes of all kinds.

Any singleton, in an element or quality, would mean than a person has only one planet to express the element or quality. This one planet would be important solely for the expression of that particular element or quality.

I've noticed this more with Quality rather than Element, but the dilemma would be the same, how do you express it if the ruler (as in "measured by") is not the same?

Here's a particular example from a chart I'm working on now. Only one Cardinal planet is Neptune (also in an air sign). This person uses the energy of Neptune to start things going for others. This is a person who has great imagination and vision, and they are able to make their dreams happen by talking to others about their plans. Others will feel the excitement, get the work done. This is not a person who will physically start things.

For your example, only one Fire planet in Neptune:
This would be a person who uses the energy of Neptune to show their passion to the world. Depending on the Quality, they would lead passionately, support passionately, etc.
The astrological principle of Neptune is where the person's passion would show through.

Sag Mercury (which is my chart ruler) is the only planet in a fire element in my chart. Would it be counted as a singleton?

^ Yes according to this:

quote:
If a planet happens to be the only one in an element, quality, or house type, that planet is a Singleton and it can funnel all of the “energy” of the horoscope.

http://www.bobmarksastrologer.com/13.0Singletons.htm

My sag mercury is the only mutable planet I have.

Singleton water - scorp pluto in the 10th house, on scorp MC -> I'm slightly obsessed with infusing my job with passion and finding a career that I'm passionate about.

^ You're welcome <3 Must be intense, are you good at public speaking and influencing others?

Here's one cool article about mercury singleton.
http://astrologyclub.org/articles/singletons/mercury/mercury.htm

Some parts are true for me.

quote:
People with Mercury singletons almost always have some very odd or “quirky” ways of communicating. Since all singletons imply a degree of stress, and they certainly come out when the person is under stress, the thinking and communication of these people is notable.

quote:
The person with a natal Mercury singleton has special gifts and/or problems with perception and communication – for example, an opera singer who stutters badly when she speaks, but never when she sings lyrics.

No, not really. I've never spoken in front of a big audience in my entire life. Although it's easy for me to communicate with others, I don't think I'm good at influencing others with my words.

But yes, I could say that communication (verbal and written) in general is an edge of mine.

I have a water singleton - Jupiter at .58 degrees Scorpio. It's the ruler of my descendant, placed in my 5th house, conjunct my vertex (2), and it makes an out of sign conjunction to my 5th house pluto (6a). I've been called intense! I have been pursued by guys with Scorpio stelliums. My husband has his venus conjunct my jupiter/vertex (1,0), his Juno is in Scorpio. My jupiter/vertex is conjunct my best male friend's ascendant/NN (1,0). I have a gift for penetrating the minds of others, and can understand their intentions/motivations better than they understand themselves especially in relationships.

lunae, that's cool, I always envy/admire those who have a gift of communication, especially verbal.

Lol my thoughts are often too erratic. When I'm under stressed and/or excited I stutter quite badly. Maybe having singleton mutable merc explains this lol

Haha thanks

I have a mutable mercury singleton too! My thoughts are more impulsive than erratic. lol

But anyways. Now that I think about it, the qualities of my singleton are really visible in my personality, in the opposite way. Fire is always related to confidence, independence, motivation, etc. For a long time, I've always struggled those. I was very passive and had low self-confidence.

No wonder I'm so attracted to fire types. Maybe it's because it's almost devoid in my chart.

Lol, it sounds French because it is French. But I speak Google Translator French. Mother tongue is the not so glamourous portuguese.

I'm not very possessive of friends, I've got Aqua Moon to thank for that, but I do get very close and intimate with friends really fast. *nodnod* That's really something that happens.

In my case, it's just hard to keep the same level of attention to the friendship for a long time, as Pluto wants to be forever transforming my relational dynamics and not everyone is flexible to go along with it.

I have an Earth Taurus sun singleton in my 11th. However it's 4 degrees from my 12th house cusp so I feel it there too. I agree with the 11th house wanting to be accepted, social and have a lot of friends. That's very important in my life. However it's afflicted (square mars, Saturn and opposite Uranus.

I believe I've asked this before but just to get some clarification, what's the difference having an element singleton vs. an un-aspected planet? How do the energies differ?

Example: as I mentioned, I have an Taurus sun earth singleton. This is definitely shown in my personality.

HOWEVER, I also have an un-aspected Gemini moon in the 12th that is also strong in my personality. How do these energies play out? Similarly or different?

I have an Aries Mercury singleton...

Just this week me and some friends were laughing at how blunt I can be sometimes, ahaha! But it's not with bad intentions at all and they know it, it's just that my thoughts come out of my mouth as raw as can be, lol... You know how a child always says the truth about everything they think? It's a bit like that. Aries is blunt yes but there's this childlike-playfulness about this sign aswell...They're very genuine and that's how my communication is too. I can definitely see how a singleton can have a great impact on someone's character!

I have singleton pluto in the 10th house. I look at the sign the singletons are positioned in,the degrees of declination, whether the planet is in detriment/fall or has essential or accidental dignity, which triplicity,is it exalted or in domicile etc,the aspects they make with other planets if they are harmonious or strained aspects.

I have (well, most likely) a water singleton, Pluto in Scorpio. It's in the 3rd house. It's sextile Sun (2), opposite Mars (8), square Vertex (0), sextile Neptune (5). Astro also shows a square to Jupiter but I suppose it's way too loose to be counted (9). It makes no parallels or contra-parallels. Any insight appreciated.
