Biggest evidence for astrology that you would site in a debate against a disbelieving consensus 'intellectual'?(I know this might not get replies but I was just interested to know. What you would state as the best 'evidence' observable for astrology.) IP: Logged |

I personally believe in astrology because it describes me and others well but I don't believe in future stuff that astrology offers as well as.. planetary influences which people often consider to be bad luck or somethingAnd as for scientific stuff.. I can only think of disclaimers: twins born at the same time but are very different IP: Logged |

The way I tend to explain it to nonbelievers is more poetic than factual, though there certainly is fact. I usually just say that the universe consists of bodies that are infinitely large and move with such power, and of course we can't understand them entirely, we can't even really fathom their vastness! It just seems silly to me to know scientifically that such huge things exist and move around us and shape our physical world, yet deny that they influence us personally. More specifically, I point to the moon. This is an enormous body that moves around us daily, and visibly affects our world. The moon LITERALLY moves oceans. This is fact. Human beings are 98% water. This is fact. The connection between these two facts is a poetic one, but I think it's potent. IP: Logged |
