My husband is a Taurus Sun and I'm an Aquarius Sun. Believe it or not-- I think this is what attracted us to each other and keeps us interested. It's a "never a dull moment" thing. Like constant intrigue, because we are so different.

So different it's comical, but I think we enjoy the differences. We are also from different cultures so there is so much to learn from one another. I helped him learn advanced english, and he taught me his language. That is how our relationship grew-- from a mutual learning process.

We also traded attributes at some point in our relationship, and I became more earthy and him more airy.

We have this thing called "Air Points". A numerical value given to someone who does something really flaky and airy, like forgetful moments. 5 air points for locking your keys in your car, for example. I think he has more Air Points than me these days. Hehe.

I guess what I'm saying is, this aspect is supposed to be an awful clash, right ? But we adopted each others energies harmoniously and can laugh at our differences.
We also have Saturn aspects. There have been times early on when we had broken apart, but always came right back to each other after a few days.

I feel like all the notorious doom and gloom aspects, like squared Sun and saturn, are needed in moderation to keep things intriguing and strengthen the bond. Let me know what you think of this aspect too!

Hello again, Ami,

I been thinking about this question since you posted it because I couldn't really get a good grasp on how much impact it has. My sun squares my husband's by 5 degrees. I don't know if that's too wide, but I read, when luminaries are involved, some astrologers allow orbs up to 6 deg. Anyways, our suns share some basic affinities: I have a Gemini sun and my husband is a virgo, so both our suns are ruled by mercury. On top of that, my husband's sun is in his natal 3rd house, the natural house of my sun. Just like Amelia, it hasn't really been a big deal. It doesn't add to an attraction towards him, but I can't say it negates it either. My moon is in capricorn, so I appreciate the earthy groundedness of his character. I have a predominance of air in my chart and ironically, it's his fiery traits that I don't like. His sun falls into my 4th house, so that may add to my indifference to the square aspect. I'm way more receptive to his sun qualities than anything else. In fact, I wish he had more planets in earth.

I started to realize today that square signs still bond with one another because they are of the same mode. I have noticed I get along with other fixed signs.
So Gemini and Virgo (or Pisces) are different, but still bond because they are both mutable.
