What are the best transits for a diet or losing weight?

Unfortunately, I'm not one of those lucky people, who have a fast metabolism. I really have to watch what and how much I eat, if I want to stay in shape.

As majority of people, I have gained weight since Christmas (which followed by couple of Birthday parties). I shred a few pounds, but it's taking forever

Just to let everyone know, I'm not starving myself. I'm against extreme food regimes. I just eat a bit less and more healthy, and don't have food few hours before I go to bed.

So if you know about transits, please share your knowledge. It will help me, and many others

I'm Leo Sun, Sag Moon, Virgo Asc.

Transit Saturn, Uranus or Pluto (or sometimes Mars for the motivation/energy factor) making aspects to the natal Asc, Asc ruler, 6th house, 6th house ruler.

You can try and see if any of these configurations are happening in the progressed charts and compare progressed-natal and progressed-transits too.

going to confirm since I have lost 45 lbs since pluto has been conjunct my ascendant, I am only 5'2ish so it has changed my appearance dramatically

I think jupiter in the 6th house might also help, I noticed I cleaned up a lot of my bad habits while jupiter was in my 6th, and now that it has gone retrograde and back into my 6th I notice that i've been cleaning up or developing some better habits as well.

I started taking this supplement called N acetylcystein (an amino acid) for a couple weeks now and I noticed that it has curbed my cravings for sweets.

Thanks everyone who replied.

Unfortunately, none of the mentioned planets make any significant aspects to my Asc, it's Ruler, nor 6th House Ruler.

So frustrated. I actually don't eat that much, rarely drink soda, and almost completely stopped eating sweets. I used to eat a 100g bar per day, but my sweet tooth is on strike for about a year, dunno why.

Most of people with my body type/height (5'9 or 176cm), would be 10 kilos lighter with the same diet

@arcturiann, congratulations on your achievement! That's amazing.

I'm probably just reiterating what others have stated. Pluto gives will power. With the Moon, you get one conjunction and two trines each month. They’re brief, but could give you a boost. Be wary of Venus & Jupiter, especially when the Moon comes into hard aspect with them or them with each other. Do you have any aspected planets in your first house? Look at transits to those.

Of note, while it’s true that we need a calorie deficit to lose weight, the whole eat less and exercise more thing really just doesn’t work for a lot of people. Exercise just makes people hungrier and the food choices at those times tend to be carbs. Also our food and water just doesn’t have the nutrients in it that they used to. The body will be starved for micro nutrients, but the brain doesn’t know any better and demands more macro nutrients. Make sure you get vitamins and minerals.

I'm only saying this to add information. I don't know if it works, etc.

Lada Duncheva claims to lose weight do your diet/exercise while the moon is waning.
Muscle building while it is waxing.

I actually lost weight when jupiter crossed my ascendant. Kind of weird because I would have thought that it would have caused me to blow up. Lost forty pounds...my natal jupiter is rx and conjunct my ascendant as well so it was my jupiter return too.

To lose weight, look at your protein intake. Protein burns more calories. Try eating chicken, fish and lean beef. Also, lift weights. Building muscle will help burn more calories long after your workout session ends.

Solar return with capricorn ascendant makes it easier.

Cut out dairy, sugar & gluten & eat every three hours. The weight will just fall off.

Thank you everyone for your advises, and food intake recommendations.

@mcmlxix, I only have Mercury in my 1st House, which is my chart ruler. It makes an opposition to trSun and sesqiquadrate with trVenus. All 0 degrees.

tr Venus is sextile Moon

@DeepFreeze, thank you very much for an idea. I used to watch Lada, until I realised it's Vedic I think it's too early for me to learn about any alternative astrology branches, even though some things apply to me more

I'll try to do Moon Diet when it starts waning on Feb 17th (so happy it's after the weekend) For anyone, who wants to check out Moon Diet, here is the website, and Moon calendar page
http://www.moonconnection.com/moon-diet.phtml
http://www.calendar-12.com/moon_calendar/2014/february

Until then, I'll take your recommendations, and eat more protein

UPDATE:

The Moon diet works (thx to DF for the recommendation).

I've been on it for 2 days, and I've lost 3.5kg or 7lb, and I wasn't too strict with myself either. On 1st day I had some chicken and biscuits. Yesterday I ate chicken curry noodles, chocolate and some more biscuits

You are supposed to stay off food altogether, only liquids, herbal tea and a little bit of juice.

So happy!

This is so weird. Transits don't make you lose weight! They can perhaps influence you to be more proactive, but that's it! Please don't wait for a transit. You should start working out. No one starts out with great metabolism, you increase it through exercise and hard work.

The best way to exercise is to have a holistic work out regime with a combination of cardio, strength and stretch. The strength might actually make you add a couple of pounds since muscle is heavier than fat, but you will look much leaner and your metabolism will increase because muscle burns calories faster. That's why just doing cardio exercises is not very effective in the long run. Sure, you'll increase your stamina, but it doesn't really do that much for your metabolism.

Also, if you start working out it is not enough to go once or twice a week, that won't really bring any changes to your form. If you want to see changes you will need to exercise at least every other day for at least an hour each time.

I would be careful to just start running. It can seriously injure your back and joints, especially if you are a little overweight and start out strong on a hard surface. It might be better to start off on a crosstrainer.

Nobody said they will, I'm not expecting magic. Some people suggested transits may influence your will (to exercise and eat healthy), which I believe.

As for metabolism, yes, some people are born with higher metabolism. I didn't say you can't work on it, you can raise it to certain extent. But being born with one is definitely a BIG advantage! For example, my friend (5'2), I've shared apartment with, is veeery slim, some may call her anorexic, but the only exercise she ever does is turning book pages. Seriously, she'd stay on a couch all day reading, rarely leaving home. Her food portions were at least twice bigger, than mine, she daily consumed butter, sugar, white bread... no limit at all. Me (5'9) at the same time, worked as a waitress, carrying heavy trays, running 35 hours a week, while eating healthy, no butter, no sugar, no bread, always have to watch myself. And I've been like this all my life, even when I was really into sports (I did gymnastics and swimming).

But thanks for your advices, my plan is to loose a bit more weight, and then work on my muscles. Otherwise, I'll turn into 1 big tall muscly woman haha

Hello liliya ,

I had my personal transformation occur when I suffered a spine injury under transit Pluto opposite moon in the 12th ruler of my asc, I had surgery which debilitated me and gained 100 lbs in about 6 months, I was also depressed because my girlfriend cheated on me with another man, her words left me broken and hurt, she said she didn't like that I let myself get fat and that she wasn't attracted to me anymore(so shallow she was) and I felt alone and just stopped caring about myself anymore

About 2 years later, my transit Uranus trine my Asc and trine my Saturn in the 5th is when I went through a kind of enlightenment period, I remember one day waking up and looking in the mirror and realizing that I was fat and I wasn't happy with the way I looked, I began to cry because I couldnt believe I allowed myself to be controlled by a unexpected situation.

After that day I believe is when the strengths of my chart activated, (my Saturn conjunct Pluto, sun square them both, mars square Jupiter and Uranus conjunction, strong drive determination to overcome any difficult situation)

I started a crazy exercise regime, 3 times a day, cardio twice a day, and I bought a weight set, lifted weights when ever I had a chance, changed my diet, I had this stair stepper in my house and I remember just using that thing for hours locked in a room with no ac or fans when it was 95 degrees and humid outside, I didn't care if I passed out but my desire to rebuild myself so strong it controlled my whole being. All of it was driven by feeling like a failure, not feeling good enough, I wanted revenge against my ex gf I was going to prove her wrong.

In 5 months I had lost the 100 lbs I had gained then I continued to lift weights, gained a lot of muscle mass and I still maintained my weight today and it has been 10 years since the transformation.

I guess Uranus was the catalyst to helping me break the norm and see myself as who I was and gave me the strength to change who I was and help me become the man I knew I could be. Never to judge others because of there physical qualities because sometimes it can't be altered, you can try your best to change what you have control over but embrace those qualities that you cannot change
