So I was glancing over a few articles and general surveys done of Sun and Mars signs of Military Leaders and found it quite interesting that quite a few Military Generals in History were Air Signs (Gemini and Libra to be exact.) And I actually think it makes perfect sense! Particularly for Libras. I remember having a similar discussion with a member of this forum a while back and I just have to quote her replies on the matter: quote: Honestly, out of all the signs, I think that Pisces are really the least "war-like" out of all the signs because they really literally just don't have a need to debate or fight at all. They just chill and do their thing. The Librans on the other hand DO have a need to prove themselves to people for some reason, and I've even seen it happen without my Aries moon being involved. I think that, on the SURFACE, they try to be diplomatic and they try to play well with others, but underneath, they have their own version of "right" and "wrong" to contend with, and when someone crosses into the territory of "wrong" then they feel the need to correct them. Will Libras be violent for the sake of being violent? NO. Will they get violent if their sense of right and wrong are crossed in some way? Yes. Will they get violent for the sake of other people? Yes. Will they become violent if it is a cause they can get behind? Yes. I do understand the "traditional" astrological interpretations. However, many times these are one-dimensional and stereotypes more than they are fact. The "opposites" rule applies, but not in the way you think, because the way the axis works is that they are on opposite ends of the SAME axis. Aries are more overt about it, Libras are more covert about it. Aries are the foot soldiers while the Libras are often the generals or the politicians who put it all into action.

I can see this. I am a 2H Libra Sun and I am a born strategist and prefer diplomacy above anything. I am not a soldier or former military, but I have had the privilege of knowing quite a few. Some of them have Libran placements and aspects. This is something interesting to consider: My S/O is a 7th house Sun in Leo conjunct his Leo Mars. 7th house is traditional Libra, Leo is traditional sign of courage, Mars is the traditional sign of Aries and combat. So, you take the 7th house of others AND open enemies, combine it a fire sign conjunction associated with valor, and that conjunction is a signature of a warrior. He also has a loaded 8th house Libran stellium. Yes, Pluto & Uranus are there. He is former Special Forces and a combat veteran. ------------------ Claire "When going gets weird, the weird turn pro." -HST IP: Logged |

I agree about Libra totally. My friend with the Libra stellium was obsessed with the military and joined the Marines right after she graduated high school.IP: Logged |

I am glad that people are seeing the duality of Libra. I am sure Libras in general don't mind if people treat them as the pacifist sign (I certainly don't ,) since it allows them to strategically surprise people with use of force when deemed necessary and take their opponents off guard completely.IP: Logged |
