Hey Cappie Asc folk...

I read somewhere recently that if you have a Cappie Asc you are more prone to depression and skin issues (eczema etc). I had both, so freaked me out a little! I am ok now but wondered if anyone else had this too?

My sister has natal Cap ASC.
I have Cap rising in my relocation chart.
I used to know someone with Cap rising.

Yes to both, for all of us.

I'm sure there are exceptions, but it seems pretty common!

I have Cap ascendant, and suffer from both these... the depression is accentuated by many other factors in the chart too. I don't suffer from eczema per se but have sensitive skin and have had other skin issues.

Also the other Capricorn issues with skeleton (scoliosis), knees etc.

Yep, this exactly.

Although the person I knew actually had eczema.

Oh wow! this is interesting...depression and skin conditions...blimey...am not alone! But I do feel, once we go through the depression we are much stronger...The goat after all has a long climb up the mountain. I have felt that my life will get better as I get older.

Agreed. I do feel stronger after some depressions but I find it very cyclical, every time I reach a zenith I can't fully enjoy it knowing the fall is coming. At every nadir when I am in my darkest, the universe seems to send me some tidbit of light to keep me going and bring me back on the upswing.
Round and round and round she goes....

My depression was triggered during my saturn return (am 30) now so have been through the worst. I do sometimes see my therapist as I am aware it doesn't ever fully go away so I am conscious of that. My depression was linked to childhood, difficult relationship with my mum (still not resolved, I have a moon-saturn opposition), and it was a dark period in my life.

I think coping stratergies and an awareness of triggers helps

((( Sparkling )))

I'm glad you're doing better.

I have a Moon/Saturn opposition as well and I can relate.

First time I was "clinically" depressed, I was around 14. But I had negative tendencies even in childhood (separation anxiety, fears, and all that). Am now slowly learning to change my cognitive/feeling functions...

Oh btw natally I'm a Gem rising but have a very aspected Saturn, and it's the highest planet in my chart (11th house).

Another Capricorn Rising checking in...

I've actually suffered from a bout of bad depression recently, too. But, I blamed this on my Moon conjunct Saturn transit. Thank God Saturn is almost out of Scorpio!

I haven't had serious skin issues, though, especially as I've learned ways to de-stress as I get older. When I was younger, I'd break out quite often, but usually because I was just stressed and also in my late teens.

I know Capricorn rules teeth, though, and people have always commented on how white my teeth are. And the front ones do look very white and sparkly. Yet, the ones in the back have been partially rotted since I was a kid. And had about three caps (no pun intended, haha) put in on the ones way back there in my mouth several years ago. These days, I'm a bit obsessive about my dental health, too. I'm always flossing.

The depression bit happened a while ago (I mean a major depression episode and I was suicidal). I have not been that low in more than 2 years. Skin issues, yes. Actually my eczema did get worse recently. I also had spinal surgery 2 weeks ago. I have scoliosis too. No knee issues yet. Teeth, yes. Dental surgery a while back. I have low calcium levels and suffer from spasmophilia. It got worse in the last month or so.

Get well soon Hera! I also had dental surgery two years ago, am hot on keeping dental appointments and flossing.

I wonder if there is some oppositions with saturn too? I feel saturn is super heavy but I am mainly fire and air, without it I would be floating all the time! So I should be grateful for it...

Same here, 7 Fire planets uh oh. Cap rising definitely grounds me and makes me more restrained than I should've been, with my chart. Btw I am 30 too.

I have not had skin issues in my life up until recently while pluto has been conjunct my ascendant, but I do have weird skeletal quirks like my bones crack a lot and they crack very loudly and easily.

ive only been depressed a couple of times in my life; once after my grandmother died and again when i was 18. horrible place to be, i wouldnt wish it on anyone. ive never suffered from any chronic depression. the closest i get now is feeling gloomy when its overcast but pfftwhoopdee thats nothing (actually its annoying but nothing i cant handle). i feel for anyone who is living with serious depression

when pluto went over my venus, my skin broke out. id never had skin problems before, i didnt even have acne as a teen. i thought it was stress & general dissatisfaction but turned out i was just allergic to whole dairy. now im itchy all the time cos i still eat it lol dont learn.

Skin issues- yes. Mostly just acne from undiagnosed food allergy and sensitive skin that gets red from irritation easily.

Depression- no. I certainly have moments where I get down on myself, but my jupiter in 5th house really keeps me optimistic and happy 85% of the time.

My sister has Venus in Cap square Saturn and has been clinically diagnosed with depression. She's doing a lot better now though!

Hope you get better Hera <3

Yeah Cap rising here. It comes and goes. Used to be very bad when I was younger, the depressive tendencies I mean, however now I know how to deal with it, at least I try not to let it overwhelm me too much.

Winston Churchill named his depression 'the black dog' like it's a pet not a condition that is likely to make him more depressed but something that helped him to deal with it in a more easy going manner. I find it amusing and helpful and wanted to share that.

I don't have skin diseases,although I had acne problems when I was younger,not anymore.

Hey fellow Sag Sun, Cap Asc here

The depression thing...yeah that's been an issue for me. It's very on/off and sometimes seems to happen out of the blue. I usually fight my way out of it ok though.

When I was born I had really dry skin and doctors were convinced I would suffer badly with eczema. never happened though. Thankfully!
