Like anonymi said, it's a "type" thing, but more importantly, it's about the energies that you attract and are attracted to (on a subconscious level).

Basically you attract the same kinds of aspects/energies in people because there's an evolutionary aspect there - you need to see / learn some things and the people you attract will play out those energies for you and show you something, usually a reflection of yourself - a reflection of the "you" in that particular period of time.

Given that we all change and grow (well, there are some exceptions), our "tastes" or "type" of people vary, too, accordingly to our own evolutionary journey.

That's why if you keep attracting the same aspects/energies and it always goes south, it means you're refusing to face a part of yourself and you basically get "hit" by it repeatedly, until you "get it" and start to make internal changes.

That's why the mirroring thingie works so well - say you have a Mars/Uranus aspect, you'll probably be quite attracted to people with a Mars/Uranus or Venus/Uranus aspect - the energy is familiar, there's a sense of recognition that creates attraction. Of course the way it plays out doesn't have to be bad or negative, but very often both people have some things to work on (related to that particular aspect), and by reflecting some things to each other, it gives them the possibility to get to know themselves better and grow as individuals.

Hope this makes sense... Mercury's turning retro, lol so if you're not getting it, it's kinda normal.
