Is it safe to get engaged the day or 2 after venus retrograde? Or does the shadow period still affect it?

No, actually Venus is Stationary for a day or two after and before the change of Direction.

That's when it is at it's most powerful.

My personal opinion is that once it's gone direct, it's okay. However, if you're asking about the latest Venus retro which ended a few days ago, Mercury is currently approaching a retrogradation so getting engaged at that time can be iffy.

Oh nevermind. I may have misunderstood your question. Are you asking about the time period right after Venus turns direct or right after Venus start retrograding? In the former it's okay. In the latter, not so good.

I was talking about the latest Venus retrograde. Also, is it safe during the shadow phase at the beginning of Mercury retro (the way it was this year)?
