I had this realisation recently that everyone I know who has their Sun conjunct/inside/same sign as my 7th house I tend to feel as though there is some sort of competitiveness between them and I. Although I don't dislike them at all, just a sort of funny kind of competitiveness. But my 7th house is Capricorn so maybe that's just a trait of the sign. But has anyone else had this experience? 12th is about secret enemies, 7th "open" enemies. So yes I can see that being an issue. IP: Logged |

True, I was just thinking about that Thanks Though I've never felt like this with people in my 12th house, like its always more natural, even boring. But like you said, it's probably because the 12th house is less overt. Hmm..IP: Logged |

Same here. I actually made a thread about this ages ago. What planets do you have conjunct the DSC/in the 7H? What does Saturn do? In my case I think it's because of my Mars conjuncting the DSC, although it could be something else. IP: Logged |

Oh you did? Sorry, I should have looked more :') but yeah, I have uranus and neptune conjunct the DSC. Saturn trines it I believe.IP: Logged |

i remember Alyssa Sharpe saying she thought she could get along with Virgos because her DSC is in Virgo but she couldn't. In her chart, there are 3 or 4 planets in her 7th house. I think if it's a party there, you wouldn't want more planets in there. I'm not sure why it doesn't work. Glad you brought it up. ------------------ http://astrolofting.blogspot.com IP: Logged |

Nah, don't worry about it, it's an old thread.Well, I'm not sure what's the common denominator, here. Maybe it's just a 7H thing. And yeah it doesn't have to be dramatic, it's more like an underlying sense of competitiveness; although in some cases the "competition" is quite evident... IP: Logged |

Ahaha it could get a bit crowded I guess :P maybe it is to do with balancing out when it comes to synastry..IP: Logged |

Good thought. Probably works for most people, but not for me. I don't think they are really like a rival to me? Aries can trine my Sun and sextile my Ceres, so maybe that's part of it. Oh, and sextile/trine my Nodes. Then again, I have five squares to my Descendant. Then Vertex here, too, which also gets a square from my Moon and Chiron. Grew up with a mother who has a 4-planet Aries stellium falling into my 7th, plus Moon conj. Mars. Dad has Sun square Mars. Neither beats around the bush and they're both pretty impatient. I'm used to it. Aries challenges me, but in a good way. I'm quite shy myself, so someone who makes the first move, breaking the ice suits me very well. They bring out a more feisty, spontaneous side in me and I appreciate that. I feel more sorry for the squares they get from my chart. This is all about friends, acquaintances, family, etc. Just realized I've only been with one guy who had Aries planets. His Mars was on my DSC exact and he was a bit much for me. I had to held off and easily felt overwhelmed at first, especially with how hard he chased me at first. So, yeah, I'll report back to you when I have more experience with Aries and relationships! So yeah, it sounds like downplaying it, but do check the synastry with your 7th house. IP: Logged |

Meissieri- thats interesting, I take it you have aries on the Dsc? Capricorns for me usually make me feel even shier so thats interesting that it does the opposite for you I have loads of taurus in my chart though so alot of stuff probably trines the dsc, at least by sign anyway. I don't have alot that conjuncts actually. Maybe the harsher aspects actually benefit when it comes to synastry.....IP: Logged |

I'm pretty sure I mentioned this in the other thread, but what happens with 7H synastry is that the planet person sometimes seems to embody our "shadow side" and that's where the uncomfortable / competitive feelings may come from. It's like they inherently have something we don't, or project some of our unconscious / repressed traits... which can of course be negative, or which we can envy. So it's a weird dynamic - being attracted by what we lack (or think / feel we lack) but at the same time, feeling threatened in a way, because of the subtle "I" vs. "not I" feeling.

Yeah, it's definitely possible that it all depends on the sign you have on your DSC. Like with Capricorn for you, Cap tends to hold back and they can be a bit cold, which could make you feel like you can't approach them. I think the signs on this axis really play off each other. Then with Aries, they're so obviously there I can't possibly get around them. Whether I do it in the Aries way (my rejected traits) or Libra, who will assert themselves to keep things equal, I have to deal. I'm nearly always attracted to people who square some of my planets, because my own chart is so difficult. They're not for everyone (I imagine you'd prefer some trines with your Taurus placements), but they're just my thing. So, yeah, it depends. What do you like in synastry? I don't think either aspect is better or worse, just that the harsh ones are more obvious. IP: Logged |

That was beautiful. You really nailed it there. That would probably explain why some people are very attracted to their 7th (the envy/wishing to have these traits yourself) or really dislike them. IP: Logged |

Wow, that sounds intense. Definitely like something you'd notice! Never had this myself, so I can only guess. Do you feel more energetic around them, like just being around them gives you this boost? Or do you feel the negatives more, like... Cap is pretty to the point as well, they don't like to waste any time, maybe you're feeling that? Cappies are quite awesome when you get to know them. They just tend to take a while to let down their guard. Wonderful dry sense of humour, too. IP: Logged |

Well I have a very messy chart! My ascendant isn't particularly afflicted I dont think but im definately attracted to aquarians and I think thats because of my 7H uranus and the fact that its my most dominant planet I think I do like trines and se toles- ive noticed that theyre more prevalent in past relationships, but they were boring and didnt last. The most long standing ones including family have alot of squares and oppositions. Mine and my sisters synastry is nearly all squares. I think they are binding like you said IP: Logged |

Oh yeah, their sense of humour is great! Well, I don't know them especially well, I admire them from afar there is something familiar about them buf I dont kbow them well at this point to know exactly, but yeah, I was curious about this dw! They inconjunct though in synastry..IP: Logged |

It's funny that this came up, because I was just noticing how many Aquas I know. Aquarius is on my DSC, conjunct my Mercury and POF. The only negative aspect my Mercury has is that it's opposite my ASC. Otherwise, it's sextile my Neptune and trine my Pluto.Generally, I like Aqua people, and find them witty and entertaining (although I confess that occasionally I'll come across one who's the certifiable genius-type Aqua, and they make me feel kind of inferior). But mostly I enjoy their company, and don't feel too competitive with them. Maybe a small level at first, but it goes away really quickly. I guess it's the Mercury connection, as opposed to Mars or something? IP: Logged |

Maybe...my mercury trines my dsc by sign but I dont remember if it makes an aspect or not...it might be a bit wide actually. Maybe its like what was said earlier, if you already have planets there then you might feel a bit overshadowed or something when their sun falls in your 7th. Coz for me ive noticed its peoples suns. Although mercury, being the planet of communication may signify these similar feelings. Maybe it has something to do with the masculine personal planets....but anyways, thanks for your reply, given us food for thought IP: Logged |

Yeah...weird, now that I think of it. Most Aqua friends I've had have been women. I don't always jive with the male Suns as much. It does actually feel as though we're competing, in retrospect. Annoyingly so.But I don't seem to have that issue with female Aqua Suns? My husband's Aqua Mars is conjunct my DSC and Mercury, but then so is his North Node...so we're probably a little competitive with each other (but then, he's also a Leo Sun, and I have Leo ASC conjunct his Sun), but also really loving most of the time. Hmm...interesting. IP: Logged |

Aha weird! For me ive noticed it with bogh males and females, but that is strange im thinking the sign plays a big part here...are aquarians particulary competitive/would they notice it as much? Ive not met many...but I like them!IP: Logged |
