Sorry for the random topic but transit Neptune is currently square my vertex and widely squaring my moon, and will be for quite some time (over a year). And I'm definitely feeling it. I cannot walk past a homeless person or watch a documentary about homeless people (just for example) without deeply feeling their pain. I will give some of my own food if someone asks.. or I will cry, etc...

So I kind of get why Neptune/ Pisces people are so often being "deceived", because they see what universal suffering is and want to
"help" even those who aren't "worthy". And this lands them in even lower places where their own ego is dissolved even further..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiqWhbWg6lM

Sooo anyway, just wanted to know how all of you who have strong Pisces/Neptune placements or are going through Neptune transits manage to stay grounded and deal with things on a day by day basis

Not a random topic.

What you described happening with you is the way I live every day. It can be debilitating. For example, just watching real people in suffering on YouTube can throw me off for weeks.

I have moon square Neptune natally.

8H Pisces moon
5H Sag Venus conjunct Neptune

Presently transiting Neptune is squaring my natal Venus, and it's very confusing sometimes.

The way I handle it, for the most part, for now, is:

I have learned to just let my emotions do their thing while my mind does its thing. I deliberately disconnect. This is something I learned to do after reading Eckhart Tolle's books, and the better I get at it, the more profoundly grateful I am to have learned the skill. That's what I do, to stay grounded. It doesn't work perfectly, but it helps a lot. And I take sam-e (mood enhancing supplement) when my moods sink to a certain point. It is really effective for me. Oh and I take a long bath just about every night...quite the Neptunian remedy.

Also curious to see what others are doing, to keep afloat.

Cheers

Omg, I think you should avoid anything that triggers these feelings in you as much as you can. I have Sun conjunct Neptune, AC trine Neptune and pVenus in Pisces (can I join?) and learning about the crap some strangers went through can make me emotional but after a while I get myself together. tNeptune is trine my Moon widely now. In 3 years Neptune will enter my 7th which might make it worse but I don't care, I want it out of my 6th house ASAP.

Erm...yeah. Pisces Sun with Virgo Moon, both square Neptune natally here (Sun/Moon opposition in natal). Neptune trine Asc as well.

So transiting Neptune is creeping up on my Sun, and opposing my Moon by about 3 degrees, and will square my Neptune and North Node.

I admit that I often cry when I watch the news, but that doesn't bother me too much.

The best way that I've probably dealt with it is by working/volunteering at places where I worked with mentally ill adults and homeless women. I have to have professional boundaries in those types of settings, so that's good in that sense, but I'm still able to offer an ear for people who need to talk, and feel as though I'm doing my small part to help people in need.
Now I volunteer at the indoor playground my son goes to, so that the kids can have somewhere to go in the winter months. I also donate a lot of stuff that I don't need to places that I know specifically will use that stuff and not just sell it at jacked up prices.

But anyway...I also work to clear out my energy as often as I can, by using stones or mantras or burning sage. If I read too much hateful or unpleasant stuff online it really disrupts my energy, so I try to "clear it out".

And, like Faith mentioned. A nice, long bath (especially with something like a bentonite clay mask) will work wonders for me.

Hopefully this T-square activation with Neptune won't make me feel too crazy...

Also, I should add that if I watched the news every day, or watched every awful YouTube video/article that people post on Facebook, it would make me miserable. So I just don't. I focus on what I can do here and now in my immediate environment, and that helps.

I use music if I want to escape reality.

And if I walk by a person asking for spare change, I at least take a second to look them in the eye, smile, and say "I'm sorry, I don't have any". Or if I do, I give them some. It's not my business to know what they're going to spend it on, just that they need it (to my way of thinking).
I usually don't carry cash, so it's often just a matter of looking them in the eye, smiling, and keep walking.

What's it like to have Sun conjunct Neptune? I always thought I got a raw deal with my T-square, but that sounds like it could be kinda tough to deal with as well...

Idk neptunians are cool

capricorn already strips a lot of neptune... they are interesting but still not that crazy.

I know a few scorpio neptunians.
My mom has Scorpio moon conjunct neptune.
Really interesting woman.

It would be interesting to see the pisces neptunians!

She keep a smile on her face because she's geminian but I can get glimpses of her emotions.
it's really intense.
One summer she was depressed and I swear she was like an emotional Vampire..
She bought so many roses and red plants one time and consciously left them around the house in the darkness to die. She paints pictures of flowers so I guess it was a symbolic for rejecting her art? because normally she does not buy plants or flowers because she believes they belong outside in nature.
Imagine l walking around and seeing dried up petals everywhere.

I was like damn ***** but I though it was really pretty in a way. Neptunians are beautiful and inspiring like that.
But that summer I wrote a poem that got a scholastic award and scholarship money.
So thanks for your craziness mum.
Idk she's an amazing artist too.

My dad has moon conjunct Neptune in Libra but he wants everything to be beautiful and fairytale-like.
Needless to say he was not around a lot during that period.

^^ Whoah...damn. Both of you.

Your mom kinda sounds a little like me, but more together, hahaha. I could see myself doing something like that if I were depressed. Maybe. But somewhere unnoticeable, where no one would see it.

Jeez, Cappy. I wish MY Neptune felt that way. It does a little bit and did when I was a little kid, but I didn't really start using it productively until after my Saturn return. So for most of my life it just felt like some annoying Elliott Smith song.

Probably the difference between the square and the conjunction, I guess. And Pisces vs Cap Sun. At least I have my Mars and Saturn to fall back on.

Hahahaha... No way, thanks. I was freaked out as a little kid by the horror stories my friend's sister told about inadvertently having OBE on a regular basis, which she was completely freaked out by. So anytime it starts to happen I stop it.

Naaah, there's nothing to be afraid of. Even if you encountered unfriendly entities you'd be alright, they won't eat you. Open up to your truer self! *raises her hands, falls and goes through an epileptic episode*

Hahahaha. I've experienced enough unfriendly entities without OBE. But maybe I'll let it happen one of these days.

Sorry for taking forever to get back to this thread but thanks for your responses. And sorry I always type so much in my replies but it's all very interesting to me lol...

@Faith: wow, I can imagine it would be quite intense having natal Pisces moon square Neptune Even this transit has been pretty difficult and yes somewhat debilitating. Sometimes I don't even want to face people or the world right now. I'd rather just stay in and drink. And/or watch sad movies and cry lol.. (I'm sort of kdding but it has actually gotten a little ridiculous). I can also imagine Neptune squaring your Venus-Neptune could be very confusing. What's that been like? And thanks for sharing how you deal with it, I've always loved swimming/water of any kind really, and long baths can be very relaxing! Also I'm always looking for interesting things to read so I'll have to check out Eckhart Tolle, I'd never heard of him..

@Violets: that's cool, can I ask what kind of jobs you had and how you got into that? I have Sun conjunct Neptune and Sag moon, so I've always cared about these kinds of issues except Sag is much louder about it and wants to get in people's faces, make everyone aware of the injustice.. Pisces takes a different approach lol. I actually strongly considered making news and reporting a part of my career but that now seems completely pointless being that it's not actually helping anyone. So this transit has been quite the identity crisis and very de-railing in terms of future plans. I've also considered working abroad and helping with crisis situations.. but then there's the dilemma of why is this white American getting paid 50k a year to live here and take hot showers every day while most people can barely afford to eat.. And thennn there's always law school or working in the world of policy, but I have my doubts about how much difference that can actually make too. Sooo where to go from there? My degree is in Intl Relations and that basically leaves getting an unrelated corporate job of some kind or going on to grad school for an equally useless liberal arts degree lol. Anyway, I used to volunteer serving meals to the homeless, I should probably go back to volunteering and re-focus on something else career wise...

@I'm so cappy: yeah when this transit first started I resisted it.. like no really I'm fine, Cap sun conjunct Saturn I always have my sh*t together, but that just isn't how things have unfolded lol. Ha and yeah I have Uranus and Neptune in 6th natally and it can be difficult.. Daily routine?? Nah I just kind of float around and change up my schedule often. I don't think I could keep things organized at all times if my life depended on it lol. Anyway Neptune is technically in my 6th but also conjunct my Dsc and all I can say is I've had some big highs and equally big lows in romance. But at the end of the day I wouldn't trade the negative memories if it meant getting rid of the positive ones too so I guess good luck with Neptune transiting your 7th and just try to embrace it? Maybe it will turn out better than you're expecting, you never know...

@Kero: you should post the cart! (if you want to) Pisces sun conjunct Neptune would be very interesting.. Lol and damn about the story of your mom leaving the plants to die. Sounds very Scorpio. My mom is a Pisces sun and she's never had plants in the house because I don't think she would remember they were even there let alone water them every day lol

Glad I'm not the only one! I think Neptune can really throw Saturn people for a loop, it really screws with our minds, which for most Capricorns is our sanctuary and security.

Then again, we are adaptable, and I can see how Neptune transits would invite us to consider the benefits of intoxication for once Because I think Cap is always ready to get the absolute most out of whatever life is handing us, be it success or failure or delusion, we just suck the experience dry.

That being said, I NEED to drink more, watch more sad movies and cry more. Eckhart Tolle is cool but I am looking for more of a human experience and some patheticness.

Let us know if you see any really good movies!

Thanks for encouraging me to dig deeper! I will Google it...K, these are the excerpts that apply for me, from Cafe Astrology:

quote:
You are responsive to all things pleasurable, possibly to the point of carelessness or laziness when it comes to tending to practical affairs.

OMG I am so lazy. I should be cleaning right now but I am on the computer. No excuse except...well, transits.

quote:
Force yourself to consider practical matters, even though you may resist it, while opening your heart to new possibilities. And, while opening your heart to new possibilities, be sure to use some common sense.

WHAT common sense?

quote:
There can be a lot of sadness as this transit can stimulate a deep yearning for something more than "just ordinary" life.

^ THIS

quote:
The values you have cherished to date may change quite dramatically now, or you might be tempted to throw them away, or bend your morals, in pursuit of some pleasure or fantasy. As you chase something different, unusual, and otherworldly, you may lack discrimination in your choices of purchases, people, and pleasures.

True...but again, I've always been prone to this kind of recklessness.

I just hope my luck doesn't run out...wishing the same for everyone reading this, because I kinda feel like Neptune can put you at its mercy, and you really need luck more than ever to get by.

@Kero-- Oohhhh, I thought you meant she had just bought like roses from the store or something. Nah, I would never buy a living plant to let it die. I would feel all super bad about that, ha. But I do have a hard time remembering to water indoor plants.

@ FireMoon--

I got into that line of work because, like a bad stereotype from an astrology book, I was an emotionally wrecked, drug-addled mess for about a decade, and felt like I needed to redeem my spiritual self after I got my life together (i.e. after my Saturn return finished).

But finding the job I loved the most was very serendipitous. I didn't have a degree, but had worked at the county detox facility for a while, so had some experience. I received all of my training and certifications on the job. None of my jobs paid a lot, but I didn't really care about that, being a Pisces and all.
But it really is a sort of "taking a hit for the team" type of work, in that sense.

Maybe just volunteering somewhere where you feel like you can offer people a sincere smile or a listening ear without judgment, and then go back home to your own sanctuary would be a good thing? Or even outreach volunteer work if you can find it, with your Sag Moon?

I wish you the best of luck.
