Hey so I wanted to know what aspects in the natal chart make you inclined to atheism, Hinduism, etc regardless of upbringing or what makes you inclined to particular philosophical or spiritual views. Like do certain sun signs make you inclined to one or another. My mother is a Virgo and grew up in a strict religious Christian household. But it wasn't really her thing and she became an atheist. I'm a Libra sun mercury mars. My moon north node Uranus Neptune and Midheaven are in Capricorn. I have Sagittarius in the 8th and 9th. I don't believe in religion but I practice Zen Buddhism. I love Alan Watts books and his insights. I hear he's a Capricorn sun and Virgo moon. What about you guys? And what are your opinions on what signs lean towards outlooks on life.

It's not just the placements but also the environment. The one with a placement that promotes questioning or even rebelling against the beliefs of the family or are attracted to foreign places (and religion) will not be the same religion as environment still has a say. For example, if someone rebels against their family religion and embraces a foreign one then one born into a Hindu family may become Christian while someone with the very same placement born into a Christian family might become Hindu. Same for things like atheism, one driven to question and rebel born into a Christian home may very well become an atheist (at least for a time) while one born into an atheist home likely to embrace religion (at least for a time).IP: Logged |

Jupiter is in Virgo so is my Venus.Yeah I read a lot of books especially on philosophy. Buddhism philosophically always clicked with me but I never tried practicing it before maybe I was over contemplating it. I fell into a depression and afterwards had somewhat of a moment of clarity/awakening. It came out of nowhere while I was doing nothing and it was beautiful. so I felt more inclined to put it into practice and found greater importance in it. IP: Logged |

I know a Buddhist nun with Venus in Virgo trine Mars in Capricorn. Sun conjunct Jupiter, her ascendant ruler in the tenth house. She devotes her life to it.IP: Logged |

Eastern philosophy and spirituality is awesome. I was christened as a baby, but never really believed in a God and obviously today am a staunch atheist.I have Virgo Sun and Aquarius moon, also Uranus and Pluto in Virgo. I think that's what made me question religious conventions, explore other ways of thinking and finally decide no religion was for me. IP: Logged |

I have Jupiter conjunct Chiron in Aries in the 9th house. Endlessly wondering about spiritual topics, but I find a lot of religious books terribly boring. Buddhism is in some ways my favorite "religion" because it's not one. You can benefit by it without having to read thousands of pages of rules and technicalities first. I love watching videos of Buddhists talking. I love Pema Chodran, she calms me down. I love simplicity and straightforwardness in spiritual issues...very much an Aries preference. I've also relied heavily on Ayurvedic diet principles over the years, which are interwoven with Hinduism. I love the Hindu rule of ahimsa and how it's practiced, and I prefer thinking of the soul as immortal (atman) than as a temporary construct. Despite it becoming almost trite, I love the word "namaste," and I love listening to the Gayathri Mantra. Uranus near my IC: abandoned Catholicism at an early age, disappointing and shocking my family. IP: Logged |

My family is Christian but i broke away from abrahamic religion early.I attend a hare krishna temple..but i love eastern religions such as hinduism and buddhism. I don't claim belonging to anyone of them but i learn and feel the most peace with the two above. I am a Virgo Sun Asc and Mercury Gemini Moon Leo Venus Libra Mars one of the most spiritual martian placements But my planetary connections say more about me than the signs. Neptune & Uranus trine Sun, Asc, and mercury Pluto sextile sun asc and mercury pluto in the 3rd house of communication sagittarius is my north node

I read somewhere that Gemini rules westernization and Libra rules eastern philosophies. I think heavy Virgo placement make one rebellious towards things that go against what the self feels. Sort of like Aquarius but Virgo is more earthy focusing on the releasing of the feminine energy suppressed which is important to realizing your own spirituality Virgo is a mother nature type of energy. Some of the most spiritual people I've met are Virgoan. My mother is an Aquarius rising Virgo sun Scorpio moon she's very into what's modern she doesn't like the past it's always about "moving forward." I read somewhere Pisces rules Christianity the core principles. The Jesus was the highest expression of the Piscean energy. Pisces rules the feet and water. Jesus washed the feet of his disciples and "walked on water" but his message of love gets tainted in myth fairytale illusion which is something also rules by pisces. That Hinduism and even Buddhism is Taurean ruled because the releasing of excess and the connection to the earth is Taurus ruled because it's a sensual energy and ambitious too so the bull in all of us has to restrain. It's interesting to me it doesn't really apply to my question but in general the idea that certain beliefs and views are related to a sign is cool. Like I read Anarchism is a Scorpionic ideal. Complete transformation you know. IP: Logged |

I was raised in a catholic, religious family. I dumped religion in my late teens which resulted in a lot of nagging. They still think it's a "phase". Yes, it is and it will last for the rest of my life But hey, it was totally worth it.Uranus in the 4th Mars in the 9th Sagittarius IC Sagittarius Mercury Jupiter in the 11th retro ------------------ I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy. IP: Logged |

Very nice discussion. I wonder if it's the mutable signs at work, being more willing to challenge their beliefs.Virgo, being an analytical sign, probably would work really work at finding out why this religion/philosophy works for him/her before committing to it. Somehow, I feel Vesta would make sense as co-ruler of Virgo. IP: Logged |
