If you like this kind of meditation, do you have any Neptune aspects to your personal planets? And where is your Nada asteroid?

I like some of it, like this, but have never deliberately meditated while listening.

And those YouTube videos with swirling druggie graphics and a lot of base note chanting that sounds like a human sacrifice ritual is going on...they do nothing for me.

I want to like them, however.

In my chart, Neptune is...

Trine ASC
Semisextile sun
Sextile Mercury
Square moon
Conjunct Venus
Opposing Mars
Trine Jupiter
Sextile Pluto

quote:
Asteroid 4106, Nada, was discovered on March 6, 1989 by Toshiro Nomura and Koyo Kawanishi at Minami-Oda Observatory in Kamikawa, Hyogo, Japan. It has a period of 4 years, 207 days.

It was named for Nada High School, a prestigious all-male prep school in Kobe, Japan, where Nomura was a science teacher. "Nada" in Japanese means "the sea that is difficult to cross."

In Spanish, "nada" means "nothing", and this seems to be an astrological meaning of asteroid Nada.

Why should I even look it up if it means nothing?

I like the YouTube videos, haha. Yes, I use meditation (of a sort) with music and mantras. Mainly to clear away negative energy.

Of course, Neptune makes contacts to all my personal planets (and is a personal planet), as well as my Asc.

Not sure about Nada, gimme a minute to look it up.
Eh...it doesn't do much. It's about 3-4 degrees from my Asc in 1st.

Cappy,
I am not certain what kind of music you have in mind - New Age or just your favorite songs in general. I really love listening to my favorites with Neptune and the moon. I find it meditative and beneficial to my state of mind although the songs aren't composed specifically for meditating.
Neptune can indicate a love for listening to or creating music.
I also have Venus trine Neptune and it adds to the effect.

nada: (Sanskrit) "Sound; tone, vibration."

Metaphysically, the mystic sounds of the Eternal, of which the highest is the transcendent or Soundless Sound, Paranada, the first vibration from which creation emanates. Paranada is so pure and subtle that it cannot be identified to the denser regions of the mind. From Paranada comes Pranava, Aum, and further evolutes of nada. These are experienced by the meditator as the nadanadi shakti, "the energy current of sound," heard pulsing through the nerve system as a constant high-pitched hum, much like a tambura, an electrical transformer, a swarm of bees or a shruti box.

Listening to the inner sounds is a contemplative practice, called nada upasana, "worship through sound," nada anusandhana, "cultivation of inner sound," or nada yoga. The subtle variations of the nadanadi shakti represent the psychic wavelengths of established guru lineages of many Indian religions. Nada also refers to other psychic sounds heard during deep meditation, including those resembling various musical instruments. Most commonly, nada refers to ordinary sound.

Cool. If you're interested in chakras and sound healing you should totally check out Jonathan Goldman:

Last night found a wonderful (and long) piece, you might enjoy it too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYvICmCwAFo

I often use Tom Kenyon, Osho, and a lot of Hindu mantras, especially the Gayatri mantra.

But mostly the Hindu mantras and Osho chakra meditations on YouTube.

I like the Hindu mantras for when I want to burn sage around the house, and Osho for when I want to clear out my chakras.

But I'm always down for trying new ones!

As far as I know hindu mantras are about calling deities and dedicating yourself to them. Thanks, I'll pass :/

Osho music is ok. I like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Dep7ZQYndc

How do you know that I imagine it every time I listen? And seriously, such sounds sound pleasant to me, even kinda sexy ~~" But hey, after all they stimulate my lower chakras

Bahahaha!

As for the Hindu mantras, I do believe in many, many spiritual beings, and I do ask for their help and assistance fairly regularly. I don't think they expect much in return, personally. Probably just love, really. That's not hard for me.

I just don't have any particular preference for any specific religion, and I do what feels natural.

I figure that just because humans make religion weird doesn't mean that spirituality has to be weird.

Or some tasty energy of yours. Or attention and admiration. Or control over you Some entities might have a harmful agenda, beware.

Ahahaha...!

I don't really roll like that with who I ask for help. I ask for help from those who are from the light, and that's it. No one else is allowed in.
I do pray, but it's not like I'm praying to some random ghost or negative entity, haha.

But yeah, I would say be careful of who/what we open ourselves up to for sure.
My intuition and instincts are pretty sound as far as all that goes, though.
If I feel something negative I tell it to shoo, and burn some sage.

Ok ok. I just don't think Hindu deities, if they exist, are the good guys. So if I were you I'd avoid these stupid mantras just in case ^^

I think you will like these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9rh6iM4c0w&list=PL8F6707BAE2BAABCF

Music distracts me while meditating because I can get very emotionally caught up in what i'm listening to.

Haven't tried it with music yet, but I do really like meditation.

- Venus/chart ruler + dispositor Mercury in 12.
- Moon conjunct Neptune
- Mercury and Mars trine Neptune
- Nada in Libra H1 trine Ceres exact, sextile Sun.

Any specific reason for picking Nada?

Ummmm...because that's exactly what it sounds like?? Or at least, it's the soundtrack of choice for filmmakers who want to show or discuss human sacrifice.

Careful!!! You might overdose and then find yourself doing all kinds of nutty things, just to get yourself a man! The way most women do.

You're better than that! Stay strong.

J/K. Seriously though...thanks for the Nada reading, I love it. The placement of mine is noteworthy, I have:

Venus 6 Sag
Nada 8 Sag
Neptune 12 Sag

I have heard that very low OM before, as part of a tantric experience.
