I have Scorpio NN and I have realized lately that this placement may overwhelm me. I have a packed 8th house (Libra rules my 8th house, with Virgo on the cusp) as it is, and Uranus and NN in Scorpio, and deal with a lot of Scorpio influences in my life already, it seem the Scorpio NN is just too much. I wish it were reversed with a Taurus NN and Scorpio SN. Then at least I would move away from the Scorpio influences and towards a more earthy, balanced life.

Could some SN/NN combinations be worse than others? I think going from the Taurus SN to the Scorpio NN is difficult. You go from having a balanced, grounded way of life to moving into a watery, emotionally unbalanced way of life. I don't want to gain the Scorpio traits - power hungry, ruthless, vengeful, etc. I'd rather gain emotional balance, financial security, enjoyment of acquired assets, etc. Taurus is ruler of my 4th house and Jupiter is in my 4th house. I liked things how they used to be. I liked myself better when I was younger. Can anyone help me gain perspective?

You're forgetting that the higher level of Scorpio is probably one of the most spiritually evolved of the zodiac, I see Scorpion influences in life as having two paths, on one hand you can resist the scorpion transformations of life and become power hungry, ruthless and vengeful like you said, or you can take the lessons and work with them to become a stronger and wiser person. If your life was full of Taurean stability, you wouldn't learn much at all from life!

Take it from me, Scorpio NN conjunct ASC

I doubt anything Scorpio has to do with being emotionally unbalanced albeit there are a few of them out there. I also have Taurus and Scorpio on the SN/NN and my lesson is to delve deeper in relationships and share as opposed to always stand alone, like the bull. It's hard I have to admit because I hate relying on others with a passion of 200 suns!!

But I think that Taurus are more likely to share and be with others based on their ruler Venus.

I can see your point, though, about learning to rely on others more as the focus of being a Scorpio NN...I too am very independent. But this placement, which at fist I really liked because I thought it gave me a bit of an edge as I mostly have all air signs in my chart, but now I am seeing things differently. A favorite placement in my chart is my Mercury in Virgo, my only earth sign placement, and now that I think about all the difficulty I go through with the packed 8th house I have, I don't want my life to be about growing towards being a Scorpio. I felt less emotional as a child, now as an adult I am growing more and more emotional and I can't stand it. I am not power hungry nor am I vengeful, and I don't ever want to be. I also don't feel the higher power that Scorpios have because I don't know many Scorpios that seem spiritually enlightened.

I think you're focusing too much on the negative aspects of your sign fauxcoat. Think of the POSITIVE ones too. Power full, (not "hungry") determined, emotional/compassionate, spiritual.

Make the most of your abundance of Scorpio planetary activity and turn it into great things. Yes we all need balance in our lives, but NO-ONE is perfect, and on the other hand who wants so much balance in our astro charts that we become simply bland. As someone once told me (hypnotherapist actually lol), you cannot be perfect, but you CAN be perfectly YOU!

Relationships with others will help you iron out the differences.

I might have been mistaken but I've met few Taurus' that wanted to share as opposed to indulge But then again, I have only known Taurus Moons and never met a Sun. I know for a fact that my SN conjunct Jupiter in Taurus is doing my waist and wallet no favors lol

I don't want to be powerful. I want to be happy with a house, marriage, kids, etc. (I have none of these things). I don't need or want power. I don't know any Scorpios that are spiritual. I am friendly with many Scorpios so I don't want to appear I am bashing them.

When I was younger I felt more nurturing towards others, I felt more open emotionally with others, I sought out people more, I felt more grounded, but as life has evolved for me, I have been so hurt be people who are the closest to me and I am more shut off because of this. I don't want to turn into a secretive, secluded, vengeful Scorp because of all the hurt I have in my life. I don't want to turn sour and vengeful and use a stinger. I used to be happy with the person I was...I have never been someone to sting someone else even if they deserve. I don't want to turn into a snappy, sarcastic, reactionary person. This is my worst fear because it is totally not at all the type of person I want to be. I'm so upset.

And what makes you so sure that these things WILL bring you happiness?

The grass isn't always greener you know. I am much older than you, no s/o, no kids, no real family to be honest. No permanent home (am abroad) and - at the moment - no job. Things could hardly be any bleaker for me at the moment on a superficial level. But, today, right now, I am content, because I do what I want, WITH whom I want and when I want.

I expected to be married with 4 kids by my age, settled and stable. I'm far from that. It wasn't on the cards for me and I accept it. But I still feel love in my life.

The NN points to where and how you can grow as a person. The reason why you want to be at your SN is because it's your comfort zone. You want a house, you want a family and that's what you think that matters your entire life.

It's totally fine if you want to be at your SN and choose never to be at your NN. But after having a house and a family, I bet you'll be going "Now what?". With a packed 8th house, you'll be digging really deep for answers and that's when you fully realise what the NN is for.

Thanks charlie. A good friend of mine I met online had a nice quote on her profile: "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." I'm not saying I want to be homeless or anything - I go back to UK in a week and first thing I will do is find a place to live and a job, but it really depends on your attitude to life and the love you have in it rather than how much you have (or what society tells you you should have).

I will never have kids of my own, something that took me a long time to come to terms with, to be honest, but you can have LOTS of kids in other people (and yourself!). Plus you can always give them back at the end of the day. lol

Sorry I'm sounding a bit weird now. haha

Thanks for your replies. I appreciate it. I found this:

North Node in Scorpio: means you need upheavals. They are good for you. That South Node in Taurus is too grasping and rigid. You have to learn how to throw things away. That includes habitual routines and some of your personal values as well as material objects. Of all positions of the Node, this is the one that is best off undertaking some form of rehabilitation, therapy, or religious discipline requiring a transformation. Also favored are careers dealing with something ruled by Scorpio.

__________

I guess what I have a difficult time accepting is that my life is going to have to be full of upheaval. I already have the full 8th house (which includes pluto) so I already have a life of dealing with despair, regeneration, upheaval, etc. How much can I take? Also, the above paragraph recommended therapy for Scorpio NN. ReallY? My life will be filled with upheaval and therapy on top of my 8th house issues? Does anyone think this is a lot for one person to deal with?

Will I lose my SN? Does it completely go away as I get older? I don't have much earth in my chart - I want to hold onto as much earth as I can.

Try having a scorpio NN that falls in the 2nd Taurus ruled house...am I coming or going here?
What exactly is expected of me? It's very confusing!

Your never going to lose what you learned from your taurus SN, only learn to balance what you learned with new life experiences that allow you to let go easier, be open to things you weren't before and experience life more through depth and feelings instead of routines and obligations!

My nodes are in reverse of yours and I feel the same way. I'm comfy in all my scorp traits and don't want the Taurus ones.

Isn't funny how the grass is always greener!

I also have a Scorpio NN in my 3rd house.
I have noticed i once was more open to people and i seemed happy, but now i'm more reserved in my behaviour in my thoughts in everythig.
And, i quite like that.
I've never been attract to material wealth or having a family and kids and you know being ground. However I do want stability in my body. Emotional stability in how i treat myself because it looks like i always ended up upset about how i look and that really puts me down. I'm always wishing to be skinny and beautiful and that is still my SN in Taurus, the physical. I think i need to value more my head, my thoughts, and not my physical body which is hard.
