It's really interesting! I've noticed this recently because I've kind of been trying online dating out of curiosity and a large portion have been Cancer males. Also, just in my life, I've noticed people who have really quickly radiated towards me and have become close friends have been the same.

I wonder if there could be a link between the physical/emotional characteristics that the moon has on me. I don't have any Cancer planets myself (I have a Sagittarius moon+ Rising and Aries Sun) so I just find it interesting since I love astrology.

Anyone have similar stories regarding planetary influence on your ascendant + who you attract?

Is your Moon aspected by the Nodes?

I'm not sure it has to do with Moon/ASC.
I can think of a few people who have that and they don't seem to be surrounded by Cancers.

Maybe it's just the squaring Suns effect? Those usually attract each other.

No, and it actually works in the opposite direction for me.

I attract those who seek the said qualities, very seldom receiving them.

So when I do receive them from someone; especially when it is sorely needed, it is a life-long appreciation that I feel to the person never to be taken lightly or forgotten.

For some crazy reason I attract Gemini's, but I've never been that into them in general. Mercury does sextile my Ascendant, but so do other planets, so I'm not really sure why this is. I think you may be onto something though I have neptune and uranus opposite my ascendant- but its me who's attracted to Pisces and Aquarius people in that case!

Ah, the nodes subject might be relevant too! I do have my north node in Capricorn (1st house) and south node in Cancer (7th house). It's not right near the ascendant/descendant line but still does fall in the 1st and 7th houses. I wonder if the south node is what attracts...
