Let's say there were 2 people and one was a steriotypical Aquarius and the other was a steriotypical Gemini.

By definition, what would be the main differences between these two?

also..

What would be the main similarities(besides both being air signs) between these two?

They share a belief that the superficial is something tangible and important. All of the cliches, fast cars, plastic women, partying.

Aquarius is much more logical.

By definition the difference between them is based on modality, aquarius is a fixed sign whereas gemini is mutable. Gemini is more adaptable and changable whereas aquarius has a more predictable temperment but can also be stubborn and insistant.

Also think about the signs that surround each of the signs for hints. Aquarius is surrounded by capricorn, which imparts a more serious objectiveness, and pisces, which adds an imaginative and humanitarian vibe.

Gemini is surrounded by taurus, which gives them a more material, sensual and at times more primitive or superficial sense, and cancer, which makes them a bit more empathetic than aquarians, and easier for them to pick up on social nuances that aquarius so often lacks.

Which brings me to what I have observed to be the biggest difference between gemini and aquarius, is how they behave socially. Aquarius seems to lack tact or finess in social situations at times appearing as if they have no understanding of implied social rules of conduct and behavior which can be both a good and a bad thing depending on the nature of the aquarian. On the other hand, gemini tends to have more tact as they are able to see from other peoples perspectives and can sort of mold themselves into situations better (part of their mutable nature) whereas aquarians tend to always just be themselves, whatever that is for better or for worse.

I agree, so basically they are very similar minus a few things. They also both have their own language when communicating with each other lol... my brother is an Aquarius and I'm a Gemini.

ime, the aqua has a 'deeper' intelligence, more philosophical and broad and the Gemini is extremely intelligent too but not as 'deep' with their thoughts and theories. aquas can be kinda shy and hard to know (lots have pisces placements) and gems are fairly outgoing and more friendly/approachable. have often found aquas rarely change their mind and aren't people-pleasers but gems are more easygoing and open to changing their opinion - the fixed v. mutable I assume

Gem is the most social of air sign. Gems are excited to talk about themselves and what they plan to do.

Aquas just do whatever feels good to them. Aquas don't change. Aquas are more loyal too
