I've often read that "neighbour" signs are drawn to each other but they make for lousy long-term relationships. So the moment I started liking this Leo, I went all "uh-oh, I'm f*cked."

He's got a Virgo Venus, while mine is in Leo, so this should make us a bit more compatible, right? His Mars is in Capricorn and mine is in Aries - yup, they're square, which is a big no, isn't it? Or do Mars-Mars squares ever work out?

Any stories to give me hope this can become something more and long-term?

Well I am virgo with venus/mars in Leo so I get along with leos really well. I Have never dated a leo though but you would have to show us your chart and his chart for us to give an actual valid opinion on the matter and no a square alone does not mean "Next" nor does him being a sign at close proximity to yours. I am a virgo married to a libra. There are a lot of variables and time of birth is very important too.

Sadly, ime, I've never seen such couples work too well - my dad's a Cancer and my mom's a Leo and they separated after 16 years of marriage, but they would have rows over little things and then bigger ones before they went their separate ways. Like I said, sad.

I'm hoping this time will be different.

I know it's the wrong way round, but anyway, I'm a Virgo man who had an 8.5 year relationship with a Leo woman. If I'm honest with myself I could see signs that it wasn't going to last after two years and should have started making alternative plans no more than six months after that point.

I think, in theory, a Leo man and a Virgo woman would work well as Virgos are generally quiet, introverted people who want to be rescued and taken care of by someone strong and heroic and Leo man, at least the ones I've known, have been very much like that - strong and outgoing but also gentle and friendly. I think men wear the Leo energy very comfortably and I think a Virgo 'damsel in distress' could appreciate that and would love to be 'gathered-up' and carried away by such a man.

the only thing is if that leo has a stellium in virgo..
I mean even then leo-virgo combination are so unbalanced.

They have a mighty large ego and loves to nitpick at others ..
But if you dare criticize them you're finished lol.

My father in-law married two Virgos, ha. And my mom is a Cancer, and was married to a Leo for over 30 years until he passed away.

My father in-law has been with his current wife (a Virgo) for over 30 years as well.

He's a Leo Sun and Asc with no Virgo placements (although he is a late Leo and she is an early Virgo, so their Suns are conjunct), but her Leo Mars is conjunct his Pluto and Asc.

They both have Cancer Moons, conjunct by 6 degrees.

So it really does depend on the placements. They have Sun and Moon conjunct, and a few other odds and ends.

My mother in-law, his first wife, also has Mars in Leo conjunct his Asc, but that wasn't enough glue to keep them together. They were pretty young, so that's to be taken into consideration as well, I suppose.

Oh you guys... you're giving me hope here!! *-*

I think our synastry is good, but what do I know really? Anyone care to weigh in on it? His birth time is accurate.

I have no idea why it isn't showing, but we have Sun-Sun sextile...

I have been in the opposite seat of the relationship combination. I'm a Leo female and my first boyfriend was a tender Virgo guy. Based on the sun signs in my experience, it's not a bad combination. He was a sweet, funny, down to Earth (Earth sign) and we still get along to this day. My advice is Virgo, be VERY wary of criticism, jokes, and the like. I being a Leo, was easily wounded by jokes made of my appearance that I had taken too much to heart. Otherwise I see it as a nice match

Leo relationship with Virgo can be challenging but maybe not so much with Venus Virgo. My dear friend had her Venus in Gemini and we clashed a lot. Maybe Venus in Virgo would cause the Lion to be a bit more humble. The clash seems to exist when the Leos think they are so much better than the Virgos and nothing can change their mind, VIRGOS SERVE ME they roar and Virgo tends to get fed up particularly if she has Venus in Leo which competes with that Leo sun a bit too much. So if you can agree on who does what and it's not too lop sided, stands a chance.

you did a "good" thing by looking further than just the sun signs, because the corresponding venus signs would help make you more compatible, in general. and although the mars are square you have a moon/mars in the same sign of aries. the biggest problem you have is that mercury-moon opposition both ways. now that I wouldn't want at all. the best thing you can have in synastry is great mercury aspects because it all boils down to communication, right? it's almost like you and the partner would be speaking two different languages. and someone has their Neptune conjunct the ASC, which is never pretty :-) or, it is, but only until it fades

Nothing can get me to tell a woman friend to date a Leo man. Hit it and quit it.

I think it can work out since Sun-Venus are in the same signs. He has an Aries moon though so he's going to come off as stronger.

You have Sun-Moon opposition with him. He might feel at times you seem so distant. There's also Mercury-Moon opposition double whammy. I sense a communication breakdown between you two. There's 5th and 8th house overlay but not in 7th house. Keeping the relationship together could take some work.

His Neptune conjuncts your ASC, square your Sun. Did you over-idealize him?
