So apparently, with my Scorpio Sun and Cancer Rising, I have a flood of water placements, and am supposed to be extremely emotional. And I am... Kind of. I have an Aquarius Moon as well, which is supposed to make me very detached and out of touch with my emotions- doubly so with my Moon/Uranus conjunction-, which is true as well... Kind of.But my Moon resides in the 8th house, and not only conjuncts Uranus, but also conjuncts Jupiter, conjuncts Neptune (an out of sign conjunction with a wide orb, but a conjunction nonetheless), sextiles Pluto, and squares my Sun. I've found that I am extremely sensitive (and super analytical with my emotions), but at the same time I am very out of touch with my emotions. When I was younger, I used to be much more water-y (acted more like my Cancer rising), but now, because I want to act on emotional instinct, but can't really feel those instincts any longer, I often find myself confused and unable to make a decision. Has anyone found a balancing point? Counting on you water/air combinations. IP: Logged |

That all stems from an 8th house moon being aloof and a sensitive ascensantIP: Logged |

Have you looked at any long-term transits (perhaps to Mercury or Neptune) that might create some of that?I agree that the 8th house would be an uncomfortable place for an Aqua Moon to reside, but I'm sure you could learn to focus that energy, especially with a Scorpio Sun. Are your Sun and Moon squared? Anyway, sorry I can't speak as a person with Water/Air. I'm a Pisces Sun with Virgo Moon (opposition), so I can vaguely appreciate where you're coming from. Not exactly the same thing, though. IP: Logged |

I actually think when we are younger, we are closer to the rising sign. As we get older, we are more in touch with our planets.Probably now you sense yourself more that you can be very aloof when it comes to dealing with emotions. Take a cue from your Scorp sun and 8H moon. Aren't scorps good with instinct? Maybe it just means to go with your intuition. IP: Logged |

I don't think we ever lose our instincts. But as someone with a water sun and air moon, I know where you're coming from from. Hard for me to tell whether it's the "right choice" or if it's just me over analyzing.IP: Logged |

When I was younger I was extremely sensitive. Cried like a baby about any and everything. Once I hit teenage years that all changed into anger. Growing up with a confused in love scorpio moon mother wasn't easy and I always felt like I had to show aggression or that I didn't care so she'd pay more attention. I've always been a good girl just had my moments like everyone else. For me what pulled me throw all of that was being optimistic and letting crap go. Living for today types of stuff. You really don't realize just how drastically different your day can be if your in happier mood, until you're in it. I have water venus and mars and 4 planets in the 12th. I'm very airy and very watery if I say so myself. IP: Logged |

@Mango: Yeah, my ascendant's given me a few problems with the rest of my planetary placements. @Violets: As of right now, Pluto is conjuncting my Descendant, Uranus is squaring my AC/DC axis, and Jupiter is conjuncting my Ascendant. Neptune is transiting my 9th house, and besides making a trine to my natal Chiron, aspects nothing. I do have a sextile between my natal Mercury in Scorpio and Neptune, but my Mercury is at the anaretic degree(29 deg), which is supposed to make deciding things more difficult, I heard. Yes, my Sun and Moon are squared, but pretty widely (9 deg). I also think that the close conjunction between the Moon and Uranus adds to the difficulty (less than a degree). @summerlite: I agree. I also think that as people grow older, they become more like their Moon placement. I've sensed my emotional detachment recently, but I also find that I used to be much more emotional (like my Rising sign), not so aloof. @Melodie: Yes! Thank you for understanding. It's a bit like tunnel vision. @StrandedSaturn: ^Apt analogy. @Barbiegirl: Yep, I was the same! Very sensitive and couldn't draw boundaries. My mom has Moon/Pluto too. It's not really anger I feel, just numbness. Maybe a little frustration cooked in. I'm kind of glad though, because I prefer it to the emotional mushpot I was before. I think it's a kind of defense mechanism.

I could see how the anaretic Mercury (my son has it as well), combined with the Aqua Moon/Uranus conjunction would conflict with your Scorpio Sun's natural intuition, and also make decisions a bit harder to come by.I suppose it would be a little like dealing with an opposition, and trying to find a balance between your Sun and Moon? I normally wouldn't count 9 degrees, but because it involves both luminaries and your Chart Ruler, you might feel that a bit more? Well good luck, anyway. Uranus can be good for thinking outside the box of course, and combined with an Aqua Moon in 8th, I think you'll find your balance. Maybe a transit will trigger that. Can you draw any strength for intuition from your Pluto placements, or decision making from natal Saturn? IP: Logged |

Sorry for such a late reply... I couldn't check Lindaland until this late Yes, it's tough but workable, hopefully My decisions are usually intuition-based (I can't function any other way), but a lot of the time I have to stall and wait to decipher what my instinct is telling me. It's very muddled. Although my Mercury is at an anaretic degree, it's fairly well aspected: conjunct Pluto (5 deg), and sextile Uranus and Neptune (6 deg and 2 deg). So, intuition prevails. It just takes a lot more time, wavering over choices. It's a bit like an opposition, but I find that where opposing signs are still very different, they have a lot of the same traits, but Scorpio and Aquarius really have little in common. Their ways of life are so radically different from one another it's kind of difficult. And thank you Natal Saturn quincunxes my Sun (exact) and squares my Ascendant from the 10th house (2 deg). Mercury/Pluto is in the 5th house, and I've found that when the Moon/Uranus is going all whack, drawing or writing is my best bet. Sun/Chiron is placed there too. I am thinking about opening an art business. Thanks again IP: Logged | |
