It depends where you get your interpretations from. I relate most with Lynda Hill's. They ALL make sense to me. I actually used the Sabians to rectify my chart. Some of the symbols I relate to the most: Asc - A Woman Entering A Convent IC - White Dove Flying Over Troubled Waters MC - Hunters Shooting Wild Ducks 12th house cusp: Three Rose Windows In A Gothic Church, One Damaged By War However on a more optimistic side.. NN - The First Mockingbird Of Spring Vertex - A Mermaid Emerges From The Ocean Waves Ready For Rebirth In Human Form Venus - A New Continent Rising Out Of The Ocean Moon - The Pope Blessing The Faithful IP: Logged |

I identify with some of them, especially my asc, sun and moon. Others im not always too sure about lol.ASC - A fire worshipper meditates on the ultimate realities of existence. DSC - A hand, which is held out receptively, is remarkable for the suggestion of character in its prominent thumb. Sun - Two fairies (nature spirits) dancing on a moonlit night. Moon - A fine lace ornamental handkerchief. Vertex - Intoxicated chickens dizzily flap their wings trying to fly. MC - A gold rush tears people away from their native soil. IC - A bridge being built across a high narrow gorge.

I rather dislike Sabian (and symbols in general) as well...but, for kicks - how about mixing up symbols? Carelli: Moon - deg - 23 Tau Symbol: The Moon in its first quarter. The thin, bright crescent, encompassing the planet’s lower rim, seems to hold the dimly looming orb as an earthly offer to Heaven. -------------- Charubel: MC - deg - 3 Gem Symbol: A profile, with only one eye in view. --------------- La Volasfera: aVtx - deg - 5 Leo Symbol: Two crossed swords above a gauntlet, forming an escutcheon. --------------- Kozminksy: NN - deg - 15 Gem Symbol: A sword lying shattered before a cross of stone. ASC - deg - 7 Vir Symbol: A man, holding a pen in his right hand and a sword in his left, standing at the entrance to a palace. ---------------- Sabian: IC - deg - 3 Sag Symbol: A Little Child Learning To Walk With The Encouragement Of His Parents ---------------- Jeanne Duzea: SN - deg (cnj Venus) - 15 Sag Symbol: A man drives an empty chariot pulled by three horses out of a cavern and heads towards a fertile valley where labourers work near a castle. ---------------------- Matthews: Vtx - deg - 5 Aqua Symbol: Apperception ----------------------- Goldsmith: DSC - deg - 7 Psc Symbol: A minister invites a dirty urchin into his church for a bite to eat. The boy stares in wonder at the opulent surroundings and at the beautiful woman singing a hymn. ~ I prefer the symbol interpretation to be based on stars (constellation/planet-blending), as they were in many of the oldest texts. I don't always "get" or agree with the message or imagery used by the "clairvoyant"-type astrologers... though it does seem like the majority do pull from (at least) La Volasfera for inspiration perhaps, so there is usually a hint of that star (planet blending) energy in degree interpretations even in the most modern attempts! It just seems simpler to look at the stars/constellations associated with that or those degrees, or even numeric vibration, rather than using obscure riddles to convey a meaning for the natal. We have Sabians to paint a picture, where there already is one! >.<; see, I don't get it... IP: Logged |

My Ascendant.... Libra 7: "A woman feeding chickens and protecting them from the hawks" Theme: Keeping an eye out.Inspiration: More than any other time, the little things find their place against the grand imposing precipitous cliffs of existence and beyond. Friendly without; unfathomable within: a pleasant easy manner of appreciation covers the surface like smiling waters cover the deep dark sea. The day streams two levels at once. One could be sorting and caring for material assets for example, but also with an eye out for far greater more important things, such as what all this 'stuff' means in the context of living and dying. When the small separates from the great, a deep sense of power emerges. Fascination with the unknown propels deeper curiosity. While attending to the little things in life… possessions, money… watch for losing your self by watching the chickens only. But gazing off a cliff across the vast ocean of life mysteries can also leave the little things unattended to. The trick is to find a balance: not all shallow; not all deep. IP: Logged |

For me these kinda make sense:Mankind's vast enduring effort to reach for knowledge transferable from generation to generation. Men travelling a narrow path, seeking illumination. A radical magazine or publication, asking for action, displays a sensational front page. (my MC, hehe) An old owl perched high up in a tree. When it comes to other placements, the symbol for my Mars got me astounded: "A woman in middle life stands in rapt sudden realization of forgotten charms, in unexpected recovery of romance". ------------------ I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy.

Sabian Symbols are cool to read, you can find different meanings within them, but sometimes they are pretty telling about a situation or someones personality. My Moon Sabian makes sense for me.IP: Logged |

Moon: An old sea captain rocking. NN: A game of cricket. SN: Drilling for oil. Asc: Aeroplane performing a nosedive. MC: A train entering a tunnel. Vx: a youth holding a lighted candle in a devotional ritual. They kind of make sense, except for the Vertex one. Especially as SN, Asc and Mc seem to be pointing at the same thing. IP: Logged |

In my opinion Sabians are deeply meaningful, if you meditate on them a little. E.g mine are Asc : "THE WOMAN OF SAMARIA AT THE ANCESTRAL WELL." If the ascendant is the natural mode of self expression .....and the woman of samaria is a person who feels like an outsider and/or somewhat humble in the social pecking order, but who nevertheless is willing to engage with curiousity and openness in pursuit of authenticity and truth. ..... Then one could envisage a person who comes across as being reserved/introverted, but who has an ability to gain insights through what seems to be very ordinary things and who is able to connect deeply with others..... Well, this is my asc sabian and most definitely it flavours my laid back, peace loving taurus self expression. This is just one of the things which the sabian reveals about my asc (wont ramble too much more about it here)Similarly, I find meaning in my other sabians: MC URING A SILENT HOUR, A MAN RECEIVES A NEW INSPIRATION WHICH MAY CHANGE HIS LIFE. DC : DEEP-SEA DIVERS. IC : CHILDREN PLAY ON A SWING HANGING FROM THE BRANCHES OF A HUGE OAK TREE. Moon : A PARROT REPEATS THE CONVERSATION HE HAS OVERHEARD. Vertex : THREE ROSE WINDOWS IN A GOTHIC CHURCH, ONE DAMAGED BY WAR. As others have indicated, there are some good interpretations from Bovee and Rudhyar http://www.mindfire.ca/An%20Astrological%20Mandala/An%20Astrological%20Mandala%20-%20Contents.htm to kick off your thinking.

Moon/Neptune: Capricorn 9. An angel carrying a harp. Keywords: purity, innocence, spirituality, fantasy, hope, faith.ASC: Libra 13. Children blowing soap bubbles. Keywords: games, fun, joy, childish behaviour, time to relax, experiencing new activities, curiosity. IC: Capricorn 14. An ancient bas-relief carved in granite. Keywords: art, skill, value, foundation, work is a creation which will last long time. DSC: Aries 13. An unsuccessful bomb explosion. Keywords: a last minute chance, a chance to solve the problems in the last instance, even then when it seems impossible, passing near a great danger, the victory of good against evil, terrorism, enemies, hidden dangers. MC:Cancer 14. A very old man facing a vast dark space to the northeast. Keywords: experience, intuition, dilemmas, transformation, eternity. Vertex: Taurus 13. A man handling baggage. Keywords: a practical person, power, to depend on another, to help others, politeness. They make perfect sense to me. I'm very playful and innocent and pure

Generally the Sabian symbols don't seem correct to me. Janduz symbols on astrotheme seem to hit things perfectly all around.Example, my MC Sabian - 25-26 deg Capricorn A Nature Sprit Dancing In The Iridescent Mist Of A Waterfall Janduz - Boats sail on a glassy sea. On the shore, a path leads to a pine tree forest." (Janduz version) Proud, tranquil, and generous character. One has a keen interest in seas and rainforests, and it is most likely that one achieves success in water sports and any occupation dealing with water or tropical plantations such as rubber, coffee, sugar cane, etc. ---- If all my plans go accordingly I'll be spending the majority of my career sailing in the military. Military structure on this Capricorn Janduz degree makes perfect sense. The Janduz does a better job all around for me. Even with this very accurate tell I still regard the degree systems sketchy at best. They're an afterthought for me and I believe they'll need many decades to refine by some obsessed individual out there. IP: Logged |

Moon (18-19 deg Scorpio) Sabian: A Parrot Repeats The Conversation He Has Overheard Janduz: "People are gathered around a buffet offering a wide array of nice food and drinks. A stylus and a riding crop are lain on a corner of the table."Ascendant (24-25 deg Taurus) Sabian: A Vast Public Park Janduz: "A growling lion crawls at the feet of a domineering man who stands upright with both hands on a big club." IC (9-10 deg Leo): Sabian: Early Morning Dew Sparkles As Sunlight Floods The Field Janduz: "A skeleton hangs at the branch of a storm-stricken oak." DC (24-25 deg Scorpio): Sabian: An X-Ray Photograph Janduz: "A man swims in rough seas." MC (9-10 deg Aquarius): Sabian: A Man Who Had For A Time Become The Embodiment Of A Popular Ideal Is Made To Realize That As A Person He Is Not This Ideal Janduz: "A man walks normally although his head and one of his hands seem separated from his body." Vertex (24-25 deg Libra): Sabian: The Sight Of An Autumn Leaf Brings To A Pilgrim The Sudden Revelation Of The Mystery Of Life And Death Janduz: "The sun shines bright on a flowery promontory where a peacock spreads its tail." Part of Fortune (15-16 deg Pisces): Sabian: In The Quiet Of His Study A Creative Individual Experiences A Flow Of Inspiration Janduz: "Sheltered under a big rock, a tiger stands guard over its cubs." A bit mysterious... Not really seeing a theme for anything other than both of the interpretations for my MC. IP: Logged |

My Moon, 14-15 LeoA Pageant, With Its Spectacular Floats, Moves Along A Street Crowded With Cheering People it looks like some kind of fame, huh? Vertex/Antivertex 25-26 deg Leo After The Heavy Storm, A Rainbow 24-25 deg Aquarius A Butterfly With The Right Wing More Perfectly Formed I see a turning point here, and my Yod, a story of metamorphosis, and many meetings related to it, and a happy end ASC/DSC 19-20 deg Capricorn A Hidden Choir Is Singing During A Religious Service the same message PHASE 290 (CAPRICORN 20°): A HIDDEN CHOIR IS SINGING DURING A RELIGIOUS SERVICE. KEYNOTE: The fulfillment of the individual's creative function through his participation in a group performance consecrated to a transcendent realization of unity. In great cathedrals and other religious edifices the choir is normally hidden behind the altar or above the nave. It symbolizes thus more perfectly the supernal harmony of "heaven" — or the music of the spheres. The ideal of social participation is exalted to its highest manifestation, for the choir also represents the multifaceted and polyphonic unity of the community in its transcendent state of perfect harmony. Within this harmony the individual who has overcome his egocentric separativeness and developed his higher consciousness finds fulfillment in super-personal togetherness. This is the fifth and last symbol of this fifty-eighth sequence. It presents us with the purest form of group-harmony, the most basic yet most difficult fulfillment of the social state. At the level of the individual person this "hidden choir" would refer to the polyphonic integration of all faculties in their most spiritual manifestations: the ideal of PLENITUDE of being. DSC 19-20 deg Cancer Venetian Gondoliers Giving A Serenade this is my partner...definitely my type MC/IC 16-17 deg Scorpio A Woman, Fecundated By Her Own Spirit, Is "Great With Child" the same message (Yod, metamorphosis) IC This is a tougher one. But it;s my home, a quest, and I'm not alone on this quest I think it relates to soul groups and elective affinities (so Virgo). PHASE 47 (TAURUS 17°): A SYMBOLICAL BATTLE BETWEEN "SWORDS" AND "TORCHES." KEYNOTE: Refusing to depend upon the past, the seeker turns warrior, fighting anew the eternal "Great War. " When Gautama, having sought in vain for the answers to his questions among the teachers of tradition, sat under the Bodhi Tree, he had to fight his own battle in his own way, even though it is an eternal fight. The spiritual light within the greater Soul must struggle against the ego-will that only knows how to use the powers of this material and intellectual world. There is no possibility of escape; it is the energy that arises out of the present moment — the inescapable NOW — that the daring individual has to use in the struggle. This second stage symbol suggests that salvation is attained through the emergent individual's readiness to face all issues as if there were only two opposed sides. So teaches the Bhagavad-Gita. This is the dharma of this stage of human evolution: a stage of POLARIZATION OF VALUES. Sabians always resonate with me, in my charts and others'. ------------------ I seem to have loved you in numberless forms... LeeLoo's Esotericorner IP: Logged |
