If someone is predominantly aquarius would they have these characteristics? I have heard many people say this before, but to me they just seem so flighty and easygoing. What are your experiences with them?

Fixed signs are always controlling. This is a pattern I've seen in them. Leo and Scorpio being the more obvious and direct ones, while Taurus and Aquarius are the no so obvious ones and they do it indirectly.

As a rule, fixed signs, too, are stubborn. The way we are programmed is just too fixed. We don't easily accept other people's ideas and we tend to impose our own ideas on others.

But it also really depends on the whole chart.

I wouldn't say they are controlling, but most of the ones I have met are pretty stubborn.

I'm an aqua Venus, no one controls me in a relationship or changes my mind on things. It sounds bad, but I guess Venus in aqua is quite cold. But that could be my Saturn conjunction.

I mean… they can be. Comparing all 4 Aquariuses I've known… the more controlling ones were the Aquarius Sun, Cancer moons. It wasn't even controlling but very clingy, needy, demanding, which can appear like controlling to some. The other one had Aquarius / Aries and the fourth had Aquarius / Capricorn. Neither of them struck me as controlling, especially the one with Capricorn. He was the most easy going and easy to be around.

In my opinion the most controlling sign is Taurus.

Leos are fixed and have their stubborness but they rather have fun than spend their energy being controlling.

Scorpio women are controlling too but I dont think the men.

Aquarius perhaps stubborn in a quiet way but definitely not controlling at all!!

Tauras/Scorpio axis wins this one IMO.

That would be the moon in cancer, not the sun in aqua.....moon in cancer can be clingy and dependent but they also come with a lot of wonderful traits.

I am an aquarius with taurus moon. I'm not controlling at all, i have a live and let live attitude towards other people. If people leave me the hell alone and let me be me i will give them the same in return.

Or Venus / Uranus

But for some reason I attract a lot of both (not "some reason" … I have Venus in the 11th, actually a stellium in the 11th)

I only want to control other people for my own comfort in some form. And I'm stubborn.

Aquarius sun, mercury, and venus, and saturn at the 29th degree of Aquarius. Mars is also at the 29th degree of Capricorn.

Well you have sun in Aquarius though which is in my experience the opposite of possessive or controlling and you are just giving me your sun and moon sign but someone who has a mix of Taurus with Scorpio in their chart typically is rigid, controlling possessive and does not want things to deviate from what they are use to. They like to feel in control and feel very uncomfortable and unhappy if they are not.

Your Aquarius freedom loving nature must be influencing your value system and keeping moon in taurus in check among perhaps other aspects in your chart.

My experience, at least with the 2 Aquarians I've gotten to know, is that they're deep thinkers but also easy going. One is prone to depression, though even she jokes about it saying it's her "Russian heritage." The other has a very well rounded chart with both Pisces and Libra being prominent as well. Few people understand just how brilliant and observant she is, though those who mistake her somewhat quiet nature as an easy victim to bully or take advantage of soon find their lives plagued with misfortune (though unlike a Scorpio she doesn't care about revenge, only about removing their presence from her life as one would remove weeds from a garden). But she's never turned that mind of hers to do anything like that to someone who didn't richly deserve it...though when we were younger we took part in some wild practical jokes (that sometimes doubled as guerrilla theater) that annoyed and/or disturbed at least a few (the depressed Aquarius helped us in that, too).

She does some strange & surreal things at times, but she doesn't do things just to be different, there's always a philosophical or metaphoric meaning behind it (perhaps the Sag and Pisces in her chart make her that way). I'm much more likely (especially in youth) to be weird and shocking "just because" and I don't have any Aquarius in my chart at all (I think it's my Sag stellium which includes Uranus, though my Leo asc might've encouraged it).

And now that I think about it, when we were younger she chose a paradoxical name to deal with her own subtle control freak nature under the guise of social and psychological liberation not only of herself but of others (and took a heavy hand in guiding the activities of our Discordian cabal), and she says it did help her work on herself so that she could be more easygoing to the world around her and learn not to stress what was beyond her control. As typical, she had multiple reasons for taking that nickname but the one I shared is the only one relevant to this thread.

The thing is I have singleton Jupiter in Leo and singleton Pluto in Scorpio and both touch multiple planets in my chart. Jupiter makes aspects to my sun and moon and pluto makes aspects to my sun, ascendant, moon, and venus. My chart is very fixed, all of the fixed signs are prominent in my chart but i'm not controlling. I think Aqua is the only fixed sign that isn't controlling. I have known controlling leos, scorpios, and taureans but have never met a controlling aqua.

Only the people I live with get to see that side of me (and they complain about it too lol). With everyone else I try to be more subtle about it... I feel bad for being that way but I have sun sq pluto so its hard to control that side of my personality

Interesting . When I said taurus/scorpio I was not thinking about pluto but more about personal planets who have taurus or scorpio as a sign. Pluto aspects I feel when stressful specially to MERCURY can lead to paranoia I have noticed but soft pluto aspects are not controlling or possessive. I would have to see your chart. I mean my mom for example has pluto conjunct venus but venus in Aquarius and moon in Taurus, she has always been possessive with me, her child, but never with my dad. My parents both have venus in aqua with pluto conjunct venus and are NOT possessive at all and trust each other.

Perhaps this is a testament of the power of Uranus or Aquarius and how freedom loving it is but I am curious now ABOUT your pluto aspects....what pluto aspects you have exactly?? To me Jupiter in leo would not make you possessive or controlling bc jupiter itself is not a controlling planet...I feel that would influence its expression of a fixed sign to some extent PERHAPS.

Pls explain: if your jupiter and pluto are singleton in what way as I would think that they are not forming aspects with any other planets then.

I meant singleton as in they are the only planets in their respective elements. Jupiter is the only fire (leo)planet I have and pluto is the only water (scorpio) planet. I feel my pluto in scorpio is really prominent because its in its ruler and aspects my big 3 (sun, moon, and ascendant) and venus. It squares venus and opposes my moon. As far as relationships go I am very jealous, but I'm not controlling.. For example I do not like girls who insist on having male friends when they have a boyfriend and female friends already.. Some may see this as controlling but I dont see it that way. I'm not going to force a girl to abandon her friends or anything, i'm just going to avoid such girls.

Stubborn, yes. Controlling, no. I know several aquariused, they might have God complex but never controlling. Obviously other aspects in charts will change this but even the most messed up Aquas I know respect people's spaces.

I want to make a correction my parents have venus opposite pluto and my mom is controlling with my dad but not possessive and she is controlling with me but not necessarily possessive either and has moon in Tauras. My dad is not controlling or possessive at all.

I definitely agree with you that PLUTO is an important planet for you. What is your chart ruler though?

The whole not letting your girlfriend have male friends is protective and an instinct that I get but try to calibrate it. For example, I have two guy friends that I have known since I was born and they are like family to me and nothing romantic will ever happen bt us, I respect their relationships and our feelings for each other are pure and linked to our childhood. I recently made a friend at work and we talk a lot but he is not my type physically and a lot older but we really click as friends and is completely 100% safe for me to be friends with him, it will NEVER turn to something else guarantee. However if you see your girlfriend has a friend who is hot and met recently then yes watch out and discourage this friendship.
