Hmmm, you haven't met the Virgo Moons that I know and love. I have 4 friends that have Virgo Moon. All awesome, deep, spiritual, socially/politically progressive, cool, and interesting people. 3 are talented musicians and art teachers. Moon Sign astrology generalizations are just as bad as Sun Sun ones. Way over generalized. Even the big 3 together, Sun, Rising, and Moon Sign is still missing a lot of pertinent information. For example one of the above friends is a Venusian. The other is a Jupitarian, and I'm not so sure the 3rd, but definitely pretty strong Venus energy since she has Libra Rising and Venus in Taurus. I think Pluto is in her 1st, and so is pretty strong, and might be her dominant/most highlighted Planet. Hang around long enough and meet enough people from different walks of life, you'll come to realize that a lot of the generalizations that are based on Sign astrology, not only are way over generalized, but sometimes way inaccurate.

Interesting StoneMoon. I guess you're taking the whole, more straight women than not tend to be attracted to their Sun, Mars, and/or 7th house factors, more literally But wonder if there is anything else in your chart that accounts for that? Such as say a Moon-Mars aspect, or 7th House ruler-Moon aspect, or the like?

My sun is in Capricorn at house 9. In my childhood I acted like a born Capricorn and I still have some of that today, but my soul, my inner self, I always felt that I was a Sagittarius. I find it easier to make friends with Sagittarians and some friends see me as a Sagittarius.IP: Logged |

I have a Stellium in 10th, with Sun, Merc, Venus, and mars in Leo, and I do love my Capricorns. My father was a cap and some of my most treasured friends have been, and are, caps IP: Logged |

I haven't read this entire thread so I don't know if this has already been said, but one of this first things I read and learned decades ago was that the house our planet occupies is the Environment where our planet does its "job". So my Libra Sun is placed in the 8th house environment to shine its light. My Mercury conjunct Pluto is also working in the 8th. So, I am drawn to (or placed into) 8th house environments in order for those planets to perform their functions or do their "work" there throughout this incarnation. Over the past decades of life experience after first learning this information I have become fully convinced this is accurate.

Ah, and you get to the heart of the difference here! Eventually, over time, certain life patterns, events, etc start to have an affect on our inner selves, and DO start to mold and shape our personality some. I mean, who can travel all over the world, and not start to have some Sagittarian or Jupiterian type thoughts, attitudes, and leanings after awhile? All that exposure to different cultures and different people that show us both the universal similarity and also the beauty of difference--only the most closed types would not start to drift towards a greater Jupitarian Universality (interestingly, Edgar Cayce's guidance most often referred to Jupiter as that of Universal Consciousness and/or of strength in the spiritual sense). But, with the Signs and/or highlighted Planets, it starts off automatic and there from the get go. With Houses, it's more a cumulative, evolving, indirect kind of thing. This is our Expanded self saying to us, "hey, I want us to develop X, Y, and Z, while you are already like A, B, and C., and so I will set up this Life plan with a certain amount of highly probable predestined events and life patterns, and HOPEFULLY, you start changing more from A, B, and C to X, Y, and Z in these areas. This btw, is the real cause behind astrology. Our Soul and Spirit levels of self planning and in interaction with the physical, Soul, and Spirit levels of others and within a collective field. The astrology then reflects it back to us as a cosmic clock and map, and as a symbolic language of consciousness. The astrology doesn't "cause" us to be the way we are etc, no more than a clock or map causes time or location. Just brings a greater conscious awareness to those realities. Also, a highlighted Jupiter can easily account for that as well. For example, I'm a Cap Sun and Merc. but Jupiter is retrograding back into the 1st and is the Planet closest to my ASC point. The ruler of the 9th, Mars, is conjunct Jupiter. Jupiter is trine the ruler of it's Sign (and a number of other points, including the ruler of my Sun and Mercury Signs--Saturn) placement, Mercury, with about a half degree and Jupiter is also involved in a trine with the Sun, the chart ruler. Between all these as a combo, this indicates that Jupiter is quite highlighted. Planetary energies are stronger than Sign, when they are strongly highlighted in certain ways (such as Angularlity, conjunctions with ASC ruler, etc). To be honest, in a lot of ways, for much of my life I didn't particularly resonate or identify with Capricorn, except that I was shy, quiet, and introverted, and have had a challenging life. Internally, I always felt more like a strong combo of Pisces and Aquarius, with a bit of background or shading in of Libra. This is explained (or correlated with) by the particular Planets that are more highlighted in my chart: Jupiter, Neptune, Uranus, Venus, as well as by angular Pisces South Node that is cusping Aquarius strongly, Libra Moon and Taurus MC with ruler, Venus in Aquarius angular and in major aspect to the ASC degree. Interestingly though, over time, I have become a bit more Capricornian in some other ways as well (also Virgonian, as I have Virgo N. Node). I've become increasingly more pragmatic and somewhat more focused on the material. It's like I'm trying to merge Heaven and Earth within, having started off with a very strong focus on Heaven and not so much Earth. (Earth related Houses are also a strong focus). But by far, highlighted Planetary energies are the strongest factor in charts, over that of Signs and Houses when it comes to our deeper and more consistent internal self. (Unless the person in question is all personality and ego, such as someone who is a narcissist, sociopath, or psychopath, and is not conscious of or channeling their Soul and Spirit levels at all. In such a case, Signs are likely to become more dominant of an indication. These are more the exception than the rule though.) IP: Logged |

Great post, Galactic. I have seen this in my experience. A life of 8th house environment, dealing with so much death (and dark themes) around me in my youth and then later working closely with elderly residents with whom I developed relationships and became close to and then experienced their deaths, certainly added to a more Plutonic/Scorpionic outlook on life. Though it is difficult to clearly separate that from my initial natal Mercury conjunct Pluto outlook, it has absolutely developed into a deeper understanding over the decades.IP: Logged |

Makes total sense Mystic-Melody. I wish more folks would see the inherent differences between the Houses and Signs, and not overly conflate them as the same thing. (This also overly happens with the Signs and their rulers too, but is a little more understandable, since one deals with personality and one deals with character tendencies, and there are often similarities between their energy/meaning to some extent). But again, it is common to see a lot of repeating patterns in the various different layers. For example, I mentioned that my 9th House ruler is conjunct Jupiter (and closely trine the Sun, my chart ruler). This in a House sense, strengthens and backs up the larger pattern of having a highlighted Jupiter. These patterns are fairly common to find, and it's one of the first things I look for in looking at charts because these repeating pattern dynamics tend to be very strong and major focuses in the chart. I would say that your occupied 8th House, and Mercury conjunct Pluto is probably in that category. IP: Logged |

Sun (Taurus) in 8th. I grew up with Scorpios around me: sister, closest early childhood friends (two). And as an adult I naturally find Scorpio types around me. My wife is a Scorpio rising personality. I've always been simpatico with Scorpios and have never bought into the mis-characterizations of them. Then again, I also have Pluto in the 1st house less than 8° from my Asc. ------------------ Soul Stars Astrology by The Declinations Guy Expert birth chart rectification IP: Logged |

Some of that is also related to having strong Taurus. Opposite Signs between different people have a 7th-7th House connotation of closer relationships and attraction. In essence, they tend to come together to help balance each other out as each other's polar complement. IP: Logged | |
