I am a double Aquarius (Sun and Ascendant) and I feel that Im always my authentic self. No matter where I'm at or who I'm around I am just me,what you see is what you get. Astrologers liken the ascendant to a mask and it seems that most people do just that. People often play a different role depending on who they are around and can easily shift into other roles seamlessly. I have never understood why people do this and frankly it gets on my nerves. And then it occurred to me that maybe this has something to do with having sun and ascendant in the same sign. Could it be that people with the same sun/asc naturally have a stronger sense of self or feel less confused about who they are and how they want to present themselves to the world? Or could it be that we are just lazy and stubborn? If you have the sun and ascendant in the same sign can you relate at all to this? Or do you know someone with sun/asc who feels the same? Thoughts?

I relate completely. My moon and mercury are the same as well and I feel I am who I was meant to be. Very strong sense of self. I'm not overly confident or too into myself. I just know who I am and really feel bad for those who don't. I also can't stand when people switch up how they are in front of other people. It's very fake in my opinion and just annoying. I can be lazy and stubborn but can't we all be at one point?

Well my Leo Ascendant's depositor is Sun in Virgo, so it being the Sun, I feel kinda like a Leo/Virgo Ascendant. In public, I am shy, quiet and reserved, and keep to myself in school.

It is really hard if it isn't even the same element. I have Aries rising with a Virgo sun. My daughter is a Sag sun/sag rising. Hopefully that makes things easier on her.

Mine are in opposite signs :x. People definitely see me as something completely different than what I am, and neptune on the asc doesn't help there either..

Yep. My sun in cancer conjuncts my ascendant in cancer within 3 degrees. What you see is what you get and I feel (and I've been told as well) that I am quite authentic. Furthermore I used not to understand why people play roles. Now I know that some are not in touch with their inner self. And last but not least: this aspects promises some kind of fame and a confident manner. People recognize you, you draw attention...tbc

I just started dating a guy with Sun/AC/Merc in saggy
His mercury is exact on his AC....I just told him today that he was probably one if the most real people I'd ever met, he says exactly what he means and you never have to wonder what he is thinking.
I would agree with you, I have a sextile between my libra AC and saggy Sun...but even with that sometimes my AC wants peace and my Sun wants to act on something that would be more combative than the way I want to be seen.

So yes, I can see exactly what your saying and it probably does help and make things easier for you to be genuine to who you are. Im sure it's easier because what makes you feel good about who you are is the same way you want to appear and how you look at life.
