I have mercury retrograde in Scorpio in my natal chart a long with a Scorpio Sun, Venus, Jupiter, and Pluto all creating a stellium in my 6th house. My question is, do you think that mercury being retrograde and the fact that it's in Scorpio has a lot to do on why I always think most people are superficial and never want to go into depth in their communications? I always feel like people always hide something behind their words.. maybe I'm too deep I suppose. Would another retrograde mercury be compatible with mine?

BUMP.

I'm taking to a guy w/ scorpio murcury in retrograde right now and we get along SO well but my mercury is in aquarius in retrograde. As in not are only our thoughts and perspectives on everything are the same, but our communication styles are so in sync it's kind of weirding me out. Now from all the scorpio mercurys i know, this doesn't make sense. They usually don't ramble like i do and they ask very fixed precise questions - when they open their mouth that is. He also seem to just write what comes to mind without crazy editing the same way as I do and certainty not the way I'd assume a Scorpio mercury would, where they carefully consider everything they're going to say before they say it. He talks more like a Sag mercury, but he's definitely a Scorpio mercury - could this all be related to the retrograde aspect??

His moon and mars are conjunct my sun/mercury as well...

Talking "more like a Sag Mercury" has nothing to do with the retrograde, if anything it should be the opposite. Rx Mercuries are often bad at conversation, especially face to face. Add to that Scorpio and... you usually get a pretty quiet type.

The in sync part is definitely represented by the Moon/Mars - Sun/Mercury conjunction. No doubt.

Exactly, that's why I'm so confused!
Granted this is in writing back and forth to each other so maybe we'll both be awkward in person together. I'm alright most of the time in person. I just tend to jumble words a bit sometimes but I'm not terrible for a Rx Mercury.

I guess I thought that the conjunctions would help the synastry in general, but I thought communication was much more based on mercury vs. mercury. I still have incredibly awkward conversations with a scorpio mercury friend who I've known my entire life. I'm actually having the conversation I expected to have with a scorpio mercury with a Leo mercury - I typed out a long response and he responds with one short sentence - SO strange.

I was dating a guy with mercury and venus in Scorio - BOTH RX

Sigh...To say it was tough was an understatement. Emotionally unavailable to the core and talking to him was next to impossible. You could see how it literally PAINED him to try and open up and he made me feel like the enemy when I would want to talk. It was difficult to go deeper in this relationship because he kept me at an arm's length.

I am still pretty distraught over this encounter. I feel bad for him actually. Those aspects, coupled with a cancer moon make him really, REALLY hard to understand, grow with.

I'm sorry. I feel your pain, believe me. I'm still reeling from my experience
