I've always taken it as a lot broader, the most success in your life but money is a part of this.

My for example is in the 9th and in Cap - I will only succeed through hard work and some 9th house activity.

You would use your Venus to help your POF or Venus is a gift already supplied to you be fortunate.

If you really want to know, there is such a theory called the 5 pillars of fate that analyzes POF and other "lots" in matters of dignity/debility and accidental ones too - kinda like horary but a lot more complicated still.
Apparently my chart has mediocre chances of success, even though POF was angular and ruled by a benefic, but I didn't make a couple of their rules. I will have it better than most but I won't be famous or on Forbes list. Oh well. I think I can still afford a decent dinner in Cali tho.

Wouldn't laugh at that, it could very well happen, especially if you have some sort of transits involving the 11th house, Pluto, Jupiter and Uranus and a few quincunxes around.

Last time I had a major eclipse, it was on my Saturn (my MC ruler) and opposed my Sun (5th house ruler) and My Sun had transiting nodes on it too. Life was never the same after that again!! So don't scoff at the eclipse.

Idk if it's always material fortune. But, maybe it is. Mine is in the 10th. I get free stuff through work all the time. A wool peacoat, more clothes, food to take home (big boxes of consumer goods), free boots, and other things I can't remember. Some people in my field get free designer clothes! I'm not that lucky. Yet.

Every guy I've dated has had either a planet or an asteroid conjunct my POF. I'm not sure how that plays out. Some have been very generous to me.

I suppose it depends on how you define "fortune".

Mine is conjunct my Mercury and DC in Aqua, and I've derived very little financial reward or prestige from my work, but immense gratification on an emotional and spiritual level, and enough recognition in my places of work to help me know my value there (social services/Aquarius/6th-7th house).

And my needs have always been seen to while I was working in that field, although I did have to live within my meager means.

However...I've often dated guys who had more money than I did (not hard to do, really). Not because I was interested in their money, they just...did. At least a good portion of the time, or eventually.

So maybe your rewards will come to you through your love life, eh?

My PoF is conjunct my mercury -- I would say it's accurate, because I think my speaking/writing is where I'm most comfortable and successful.

Also, since it's the ascendant, sun, and moon combined, it can be useful in synastry too. For example, I noticed an ex-boyfriend and I had our PoFs conjunct. Although our planets weren't alike, we were very much the same person in many ways. It was interesting.
