Topic: How social is the 4th house, compared to 7th and 11th?

4th house is about family, nurturing, stuff like that… that sounds like social activities to me?

I don't think the 4th house can be compared to either the 7th house or the 11th.The 4th house is a psychological and very subjective house. It is more "symbolic" than tangible. Whilst 7th house relates to relationships, partnerships and companionship. The 4th house is the psychological feeling of "belonging". The 11th house relates to aspirations, goals and personal beliefs. The 4th house is experiential "knowing" and "what works for me" That is why you'll find the Sun/Moon/Mars in 4th(either in the natal progressed chart) is pre-occupied with setting up roots and settling down. Having a home to retreat and "disarm" is for psychological well being. These people can be very "here and now" whilst the 7th romanticizes and the 11th projects to the future. When the 7th house and 4th house are on these planets(Sun/Moon/Mars) jointly, usually the person wants to get married or settled down TODAY. The need to settle down(4th) is an idea(7th). I have progressed Moon on the cusp of the 4th and progressed Venus in 7th conjunct natal Jupiter and Neptune. I can already feel that I want to get married now or live with someone. The next relationship I enter into is likely to be quite definitive in manifesting these feelings that I have. IP: Logged |

Most of my planets are in 4th house, with no planets in 7th or 11th house, an I am not very social. More like anti-social type. Very much into my home like doing improvements, renovations, etc...family oriented as well  IP: Logged |

But being family oriented is still the same as being with people, which is also being social? I have sun, mercury and mars in 4th house and a bunch of asteroids, and I'm very social but also need some me-time, I get frustrated if I have to spend time with the same person for many days without being able to have some alone-time IP: Logged |

yes me too, but I also think it is my 12th house jupiter and a bunch of asteroids in the 12th house that makes me longing for alone-time… I can be isolated for days without caring about it, but then after some days I long for company once again... IP: Logged |

Mercury and Uranus in the 4th house. I don't need much socializing and I avoid doing it with my family as much as possible  ------------------

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder what 4th house people would do if they were actually completely isolated from any contact, also online contact for a while.
I think 4th house people is a bit dependent of human contact, a lot more than the other earth and water houses? IP: Logged |
