that's a good question fairaqua.Could we classify it as an alternative lifestyle or progressive parenting? If so then add an aspect from Uranus to Mercury or Venus. Gemini or Virgo may be prominate or on an angle. Also houses 3 and/or 6 may be involved. ------------------

There are so many different reasons for homeschooling, and sometimes circumstances make it the easier choice (or even mandatory--least I heard of Australians homeschooled as there wasn't a school within a hundred miles). That means they could have any placement. Though I have found it interesting how many teachers homeschool or become advocates for it. And some of those teachers have won awards in the public school system. They're often disillusioned with the school system and believe it's toxic and/or counterproductive for kids and teachers alike. I even knew a teacher who helped homeschoolers and unschoolers on the side, I liked her a lot, but other than she was an idealistic Sag I couldn't tell you anything of her chart. IP: Logged |

Let's look at it as alternative lifestyle. How I wish I could homeschool my children because I feel like real world learning needs to be taught with lessons and you just can't get that in a big class Im just missing the know how to properly teach and get it through IP: Logged |

It's not so hard. If you homeschool then you'd get "answer books" (or "keys") just like the teachers. There are so many programs that very little work is required on your part, and if you have a GED or high school diploma then you're as qualified as many others who teach. Though a word of warning: there are some extremist groups who try to sneak a lot past homeschooling parents by subtly promoting their ideology rather than being blatantly obvious about it. In the US they tend to be extreme Christian fundies or neo-Nazis, and naturally it's buyer beware, you won't get your money back. If you think the real world makes for the best classroom (and I agree), then here's the book for you (yet another written by a former school teacher): http://www.amazon.com/The-Teenage-Liberation-Handbook-Education/dp/0962959170 This is technically unschooling which is different from how most homeschooling is done. I think there would be different results comparing charts of homeschool moms vs. cyber school moms. IP: Logged |

I'd never be able to home school. I have no patience, and I need space. Leo Sun, Leo Mars square Pluto, Sag Moon, Virgo Venus sq Uranus. Capricorn in 5th (house of children) House IP: Logged |
