If you praise me for something I did, I'm very pleased.

If I didn't do a good enough job, but you think I did great... that would have been my reaction. This happens to me a lot in some places. I grade myself either by my standards or the highest standards/level of comparison available by proximity, field, etc. Whichever one is higher. So, external praise must be on par with the internally accepted evaluation system in order to be credible. My mom wants me to get rid of this system. Saturn, Sun, Mercury, Uranus conjunct. How I think: "I'm unique. I must be the best. If I'm not the best, then I'm not good enough. What will I say about myself then?" You can see all 4 planets play out there. If I've been evaluated rigorously and complimented generously, I accept it because I trust the credibility of it. IP: Logged |

Virgo rising (and ketu) cap sun (5th house).
When people praise me for doing something I smile meekly because how can they praise me with such obvious flaws in what I just did?! (Virgo rising being the perfectionist)
I feel like while it's nice to get recognition, I also feel like they are doing it just to be nice, which is a form of dishonesty to me..
Don't look at my stuff till I say it's perfect (which it probably will never be in my eyes)

ummm I'd prefer actual rewards, like a raise.. rather than 'words' because I generally feel like words are just words.
