Then, there's a matter of humor. Some Geminis - in their childish ways, exude a clownish personality - which sometimes, can imply a more subtle or dry humor - that doesn't go so well with the more serious type of Capricorns. Unless you're expressive when joking around (like Jim Carrey - for example) - they take your words to seriously and fail to see the humor in your remarks - and act indifferent (whatever) or grumpy (not like the Grumpy cat - but more like Grumpy the dwarf - from Snow White). :) Scorpio do this too - with a slight difference, as in - they think you're trying to attack them in a teasing way - and turn defensive (or more like offensive...).

Though, I've talked about this combo (Capricorn and Gemini) before and while thinking about it - two characters crossed my mind at that time, as - they seemed to be fitting for a Capricorn and Gemini based on their acting. And boy was i surprised while finding out that - i got it right (since they were among my first successful guesses - from back when i was learning the basics of Astrology). :) Those two were:

"Stan Laurel" and "Oliver Hardy!"

Oliver was always kinda serious and looking for a practical way in his approaches while Stan - had his head up in the clouds most of the time - just trying to go with the flow. :) I really loved those two! It goes to prove that there's room for a successful partnership between a Capricorn and a Gemini (maybe not all - but some sure can fit this mix). :)

Dang, i really miss those two - so, maybe I'll watch some of their shows this weekend for old times' sake. ^^

LOL~ I can't speak for other Caps with Gemini planets, but I do this, too. So I actually enjoy when other people do it. (Geez, why does "tangent" have to have such a negative connotation, anyway? )

To answer the OP:

I was really good friends with a Gemini guy, he came to my wedding, and I'm sure that if I see him again at a reunion or whatnot, we'll hit it off same as before. He was (is?) good looking, brilliant, hilarious. But I was physically attracted to him for only about ten minutes one night, out of all those years we were hanging out. Of course, I wasn't his type either (he married a beautiful blonde Libra girl. )

I think the vibes between Caps and Gems are just totally mismatched for romance. Cap is heavy and plodding, Gem is light and flittering all over. Aren't they bound to get on each other's nerves, eventually?

Anyway...the main thing I came here to talk about is the fact that I love Russell Brand. His sun-Mercury is conjunct my Gem Mars.

If it was about the Sun alone - or someone with all planets in Gemini and another with all planets in Capricorn - then yeah, i guess those two wouldn't stand a chance in any kind of relationship (romantic, friendship, partnership or even as family members - they'd probbaly loathe each other). The Gemini would we be insanely childish while the Capricorn would be oppressively serious. People with all planets in a Sign are extremely rare - so rare that this mix is not even worth taking in consideration (generally speaking). Even so, there are a lot of other combinations - where there's no room for connection between this two - but in same way, there are also combinations - that just click (like two pieces from a jigsaw puzzle). I'm also a Gemini - and I can confirm this possibility based on my personal experience with "certain" Capricorns. Like, my Capricorn grandma - with whom i was always in good terms or at least better than with any other member from my family, then - there was a Capricorn best friend - a friendship that lasted 3 years until our path through life changed... and last but not least - a significant other...). But ofc - what worked for some doesn't work for others, so - I'm just an example that shows it's possible. Johnny Depp - is a Gemini who was married to a Capricorn (Vanessa Paradis), just one of those combinations that showed potential from this point of view - and it's not that surprising - since he has the Moon in Capricorn. And Vanessa Paradis - had Moon in Cancer and ASC in Scorpio - not the most typical Capricorn either.

As for celebrities... hmm, while looking at some female celebs with Sun in Capricorn - there are some i find attractive - but that says very little (as - we can find attractive people under any sign) or maybe i spoke to soon, cause there is one that caught my attention - starting with her piercing eyes (wow - those eyes are really intense), as in: "January Jones" Hmm, first time i hear this name to be honest - though while checking her info... i see: Scorpio Moon.

Lots of Capricorns are seriously weird, that's the thing. Marilyn Manson, Howard Hughes, me, and the list goes on.

As for famous Cap-Gem couples...right, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis didn't last forever, but relatively long for celebrities! Ditto for Cap Nigella Lawson and Gemini Charles Saatchi.

These two were together for years, considering they got together when she was 14:

He never lost contact with either of these women. Maybe it's not a coincidence that their birthdays are only one day apart; Elvis was heavily into the occult.

Oh, I see... you're looking at it in terms of "longevity". That sounds like a Capricorn thing - pondering on a distant future - on how long will the product in question last (among other things - like the quality of the product, its credentials and so on). I mean, only products have a warranty or an expiration date. And, there's just one guarantee when it comes to people and it's the opposite of what you can expect from a product, as in - "they change".

Anyway, from what i noticed while cheeking this list: http://www.librarising.com/astrology/sunsigns/sunincapricornfemale.html - of Capricorn female celebs,they didn't beat around the bush when it comes to relationship - they jumped right into marriage (asap). I guess i got it backwards up until this point - cause from what i've read - Capricorns were suppose to be more cautions - were suppose to test the water for few years till they decide on that. Guess i got it wrong. Well, they're not all like that - but most were in the same boat. And... after marriage - came divorce. They're celebs i know but - even so, on average they married at least 2 or 3 times and in some cases - even 4 or 5 (or may 6 was max). Dayum! Marriage is one thing but the divorce rate was off the charts. So, from what it looks like - Capricorns and happy marriage (long and lasting - happy marriage) - is kinda of a long shoot. Well that doesn't scare me - I've beat the odds before and since marriage is not my thing, i'll manage. With ASC in Cancer my DSC falls in Capricorn - which doesn't say much, taking in consideration that - very few end-up in a long term relationship with the zodiac sign represented by their DSC, but - coincidentally (maybe), my most significant other is a Capricorn, so - i'm open to whatever the future has in store... Well, you Capricorns are not that optimistic - so it make sense that you look at it the wrong way. And maybe that's why yous chase Sags - cause another thing i noticed on that list - most partners were either Sags or Pisces. One of them even ended her life cause a Pisces she loved married another. Which was a bit surprising - since she was a Cap with Cap Moon (i thought Cap Moons are more practical in terms of emotions... guess not).

As for why that double Cap girl you mentioned killed herself..as you probably know, Cap emotions are actually very deep/hidden and too often mistaken for "absent." The link you posted rings true with my own experience of Cap women when it says we are sensitive, need love, are human.

And yes, I've seen the same pattern: it's not too often that see people marrying the sign of their DSC (sun conjunct ASC seems more common)...though it sounds like, for you, it did turn out to have some meaning, if your Cap s.o. stands out from the rest.

I think Caps crave attention and the typical Gemini deluge of words is comforting. While perhaps Gemini wants people to *THINK* about what they are trying to put across, and Caps will take the time (key word is always time for us) to try and make sense of it all, and so we might more deeply appreciate the value of what Gems are saying.

Still, with all the couples we've mentioned so far, it's the Gemini who leaves. Which is as one would expect. C'est la vie!

Ironically Shes a Capricorn with a Gemini Rising. While I'm a Gemini with a Capricorn Ascendant.

I think we flip roles, although the one role I can't do is be a mother and have kids, its just not genetically possible since I'm a male lol. So that pretty much ended that.

Growing up she would always brag about her achievements and what not.

Now the tables have turned and I'm the one getting the attention for achieving things.

But as mentioned what has changed is her having kinds and me having to be a supportive uncle/family player instead of a competitor to her.

As per attraction I find the Capricorn/Aquarius or Sag/Capricorn cusps tend to draw me in.
