Okay so I can calculate dasha periods fine...
But my question is, are antar dashas run like transits?

For example I'm about to exit my Venus dasha, which is a 20 year period.

So Venus is in the 1st house
Rahu & Jupiter in the 2nd
Moon in the 3rd
Ketu in the 9th
mars in the 11th
Saturn in 12th

Does jupiter have it's own mini venus-Jupiter period and venus-moon will have a separate?
To further explain
Will venus-jupiter run the first couple years and venus-moon run the next couple?

I'm still confused as to what you are asking because you can see in which order the sub periods arrive..

I'm asking if they are periods of time or if they are always playing a role.

Like venus dasha is 20 years..
So would I start venus-venus = 2.2 years
Venus-rahu 2.2 years
Venus-Jupiter 2.2 years

And if so, if 2 planets are in the same house do they share a period or does one go first then the other?

Okay, so I actually read they run in the order of the maha dasha starting with the mahadasha Lord
So Venus mahadasha antardasha would be

Venus-venus
Venus-sun
Venus-moon
Venus-mars
Venus-rahu
Venus-jupiter
Venus-Saturn
Venus-mercury
Venus-ketu

How long do these periods last? 2.2 years?
