Trine - person with planets trining in natal don't have to try to cultivate this energy. It's already present.

Square - the opposite of a Trine, they have to work at cultivating the positive affects of the planets squaring each other.

Opposition - person / planets can't decide how to act or which should act., hard to control?

Sextile - This one is like a light switch, it's been the easiest one for me to remember.

And the Conjunction - I know it's stronger than a sextile, but I'm not sure how to describe it.

conjunction is like two planetary energies becoming one.

It can be nice and harmonic if two similar planetary energies come together.

I like to think of the two planetary energies in a square REACT to one another.

Whereas the two energies in a trine RESPOND to one another.

Squares are a great aspect to have because they incline the individual to continuously strive for something. It's a motivating aspect.

Trines and sextiles are good to have, but sometimes when the aspect is too harmonious (e.g. Venus/Jupiter) it can incline one to take what comes easy to them for granted. In th case of Venus/Jupiter trine, a man may find it easy to have relationships with women, and a lot of women, so he takes the aspect of himself for granted to the extent that he either manipulates them without fear of being caught, lack of care for their feelings, etc. because he knows he can always make new female friends.

Oppositions usually involve one of the two energies being more readily utilised than the other, whilst still being aware of the existence of the other energy. Looking at the two opposing houses the opposition falls in can be REALLY helpful, as it can help you perceive how this aspect plays out in a more concrete form.

Inconjuncts are like to energies rubbing against one another and causing intense friction, but not necessarily being aware of that the other is there.
Sun/mars inconjunct could indicate a subconscious friction between an individual's sense of ego and his desires, or what society traditionally signifies as "masculine". What the individual feels they want and how they go about achieving these wants irritates the person's sense of self, but they're not necessarily sure why. Perhaps the father (Sun) didn't set an example for the individual to build upon.

Semi-sextiles are similar to inconjuncts in the way that there may not necessarily be an awareness of how the two planetary energies are playing out, however they differ obviously because if the fact that it's 'half' a sextile. Thus semi sextiles are two energies that just get things done with ease, but don't necessarily boast about it like a sextile or a trine does.
