How good are you all in the kitchen? And what aspects or placements in your natal horoscope do you think contribute to that?Do you all know of anyone whose good with cooking and have great placements/aspects to go with it? LOL... I saw Paula Deen's birth chart, but they don't have her birth time on Astrotheme, so I honestly was bored looking at her 'noon chart'. ------------------

I have my Moon and my Venus (my chart ruler) in the 4th. I don't particularly like cooking but I really enjoy baking and I like to think I'm okay at it by now. But when I started baking 6 or 7 years ago I definitely wasn't a natural. I'll never excel at it because I'm fundamentally a recipe follower. I'll also never open a bakery or anything because I like baking at home for people I care about, I don't want to do it professionally for strangers.IP: Logged |

My mom has been a prep cook for years now within the same company. She works in a brew pub in Ann Arbor, MI. She is wonderful at what she does and she is always impressing people with what she makes. One of her specialties are her pies. Quite often she will get so wrapped up in it even after she gets home from actual work, and still cook like every night, lol. She's usually always the one being asked to prepare food for parties and she will always out-do and stress herself out. We're attending a store-opening for one of her close friends tomorrow, and what is she doing tonight? Preparing loads of food, haha.She has Moon in the 2nd house, NN in the 4th, Mars conjunct Midheaven in Taurus, Venus, Mercury, Chiron, Vesta, Lilith, Karma, and asteroid Ambrosia (food) in the 6th house. Ambrosia is conjunct Venus and exactly conjunct Vesta, and exactly square to her Midheaven. ------------------

I have sun, mercury and mars in 4th house (and a bunch of asteroids) and I have NO culinary skills lol.
When I make food it better be as fast as possible and as healthy as possible and I almost don't care about how it taste.
If it taste good it's a coincidence. I think it's my mars influence. Sun conjunction mars (in 4th house) and mars opposition moon in pisces. I just like that practical stuff is fast done. It's a kind of aries-mentality. I hate to be slow!!!

I would think that it has to do with the 2nd House of resources because you will need resources (ingredients) to cook up something as delicious as possible. And you may be short of some ingredients, so you will have to be resourceful and use those ingredients wisely (2nd House). And also the 5th House for a creative way to prepare and present the meal. I would also say the planet Venus because it has to do with pleasure and indulgence.So I would say Venus and the 2nd and 5th Houses are linked with Culinary. An astrological criteria for a good chef, maybe they will have Venus in the 2nd or 5th House with a Taurus 5th House. IP: Logged |

Well I wasn't saying that if they have a 5th House Venus that they would be a good chef, just that those (the 5th House, 2nd House and Venus; which doesn't specifically mean that you have to have a 2nd or 5th House Venus) are individually linked with Culinary. I also added that the person may have a Taurus 5th House to have a natural talent at it. Anyway, it makes sense astrologically. But hey, if we would like to get technical, Mercury and the 3rd House have to do with SKILLS in general. So a 2nd House Mercury in Leo, a 5th House Taurus Venus, or Mercury in aspect to Venus in general may produce someone that is good with Culinary. Maybe even a 5th House Taurus with Venus conjunct Mercury in Taurus. I was also referring to Culinary, not with what people like to do with their food when it comes to eating it, lol. IP: Logged |

I have a Libra 2nd house with the Moon, Taurus Mars, a packed 5th house with Venus, 2 planets in the 4th house, a Cancer SN and I've never been into cooking and I doubt I ever will.------------------

I enjoy cooking. Especially for others. Idk, it makes me feel happy. And the food tastes better when Ihave someone to share it with. It's one way to show that I care lolol2nd house in aqua
