2nd house for example (and Im really just going to dumb these examples down for my simple self ).
2nd house deals a lot in earnings & wealth

Lets further the example and say this house is ruled by Libra, but empty.
So where now do we go to see where the wealth comes from?

Do we look at the lord?
Lord of Libra = venus.

A)If venus were in 7th house (marriage & other important partners [business])
Would that mean that your wealth will mostly stem from marriage or a reliance on business partners?

B)If venus were in the 9th house (spiritual & religion)
Would that mean you wealth will stem from some sort of religious venture (even if its manufacturing/selling bibles)

First look at the house cusp. This is significant as the type of energy that is involved.

Differentiate between the cusps of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn and the others will be clearer.

Aries is where you are likely to be more aggressive, assertive and prefer to just be transparent, upfront and "yourself" as much as possible.

Cancer is where you are likely to lean towards more emotional empathy and support. This is your vulnerable space and can indicate what offends or hurts you.

Capricorn is where you are serious, deliberate, structured and want order and discipline. This is where you can be relentless in having others "tow the line" and it can show where you have great reserves and a "never say die" attitude.

Libra is where you look for common ground, participation, collaboration, unity and agreement. It is differing from Cancer in the sense that Cancer can be self centered;how is this good for me perspective-whereas Libra is ,how is this good for everyone?

Lets look at an example;

2nd house cusp in Libra.

The 2nd house is termed "self esteem" "values","worth" and "wealth" etc.

To me the 2nd house is the tangible thing that you treasure and see as necessary to be secure and self-confident.

So,the 2nd house in Libra may suggest someone who values relationships and getting along with others.They value dating and being in relationship. They value harmony and beauty.

This may also suggest how one makes money; perhaps working as part of a partnership? Working as part of a team? Working as a Mediator, Judge, Lawyer, Consultant,Notary? Even psychologist.

They may even be musicians, poets, decorators, beauticians and sculptors. The idea is to create "beauty" and form in a world that is "out of balance" etc

Here money could be earned through relationships or relating with others. Money is earned through one's ability to be diplomatic, even tempered, cooperative and balanced, aesthetic,refined and creative.

If Libra is on the cusp of the 3rd house, it is in the house of communication, siblings,short trips, the spoken and written word.

Libra here would make one a "smooth" talker and have an "ease" of expression.

There could be something melodious and balanced in the way that one expresses opinions as they are careful not to offend or be bias.

One must also look at planets in the house to see how they "colour" the house concerned as well as the relevant aspects to that specific planet in the relevant house.

An example is Leo Rising Beyonce Knowles.(as claimed by astrotheme)

Her 2nd house in Virgo suggests her earning money as someone who is dedicated, works hard, has high standards and pays attention to detail.

She writes most of her songs and her world tours have been praised for being "Outstanding". That is Sun in Virgo and in 2nd house manifesting.

She has Libra on the 3rd house cusp.

Have you noticed how many times she sings about relationships? Whether its the man not pulling his weight or the woman completely 'devoting' herself to pleasing him?

Saturn, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Pluto crowd the 3rd house of Libra. This makes issues regarding siblings, communication and short trips very important.

The Libra emphasis here could suggest that relationships will always be a theme for her. She'll always want to come across as someone who speaks eloquently and with great diplomacy(Libra).

2nd House is naturally ruled by Venus/Taurus.
It rules the throat and the voice. It also rules your support system. Not so much your money (although money certainly provides a lot of support). A strong second house is likely to make you be born into a good supportive family that is able to provide for you financially and materially; a good supportive background. This often brings money because money is a great form of support, but it doesn't necessarily mean you'll get monetary support because there are other ways to get material support. It represents the family that raises you (supports your growth in life) not the family that you marry into. And it rules the money that may come from your family of birth or the one you were raised in.. Not so much your earnings. Your earnings from your job are mostly ruled by the 11th house.

3rd House Naturally ruled by Gemini/Mercury. It rules over communication and media. It also rules over siblings and sibling-like relationships.

5th house Sun/Leo
Rules the Arts and Creativity as well as your external/extrovertive energy.

6th house Merc/Virgo
Rules daily mundane life. Your chores. Your everyday work activities. Your regular or daily tasks at home or work. It rules diseases and your enemies as well (disease can be seen as an enemy).

7th house Venus/Libra
Rules your Spouse and important partnerships. Some astrologers say that it also rules your advisors.

8th house Scorpio/Mars
This house rules quick & Sudden life changes and occurances- both good and bad changes. But since "only bad life changes happen quickly" as the pessimistic saying goes, this house does tend to oversee tragic sudden events. Good life changes can happen suddenly too like winning the lottery, but winning the lottery is rare and getting hit by a car is not. It is also the house of sex. If most of your planets are sitting in your partner's 8th house, your partner will see you mostly as a means to sex.

10 house- Capricorn/Saturn
House of Reputation
It is also known as the house of Career, but it is mostly a house of Reputation. Career usually has a lot to do with one's reputation.

11 house- Aquarius/Saturn
Your Hopes and Desires. Your Gains from your job or career. Your friends/supporters/fans and popularity.

Now lets look at something slightly more complicated. Lets say the ruler of your 11th house is debiliated. Generally this would mean your popularity is not well and you don't have a lot of friends or supporters. But let's say that this debilitated lord is sitting in the 12th house of hiding and loss. Well consider yourself lucky, because the 12th house automatically hides or cancels out the energy of the planets sitting in it. So if having this debilitated lord of the 11th sitting in the house of loss means all the bad energy causing the unpopularity and lack of friends is LOST. It's cancelled. So this person will likely end up with many friends and very popular because his/her debilitated lord of friendship doesn't get to express it's debilitation sitting in the 12th house.
