Oh the number of days after my birth - my age as of now. But I fail to see how my progressed chart will affect me in the present context. I should Google this.something to read.

I just progressed into Aries rising after having Pisces rising for so long. I am not happy about appearing like an Aries rising personality because I find them a bit brash but looks wise I hope Aries rising is better because I didn't look so great for the time ASC was progressed in Pisces. (I was born Aqua rising).

I think Aries rising would make you look like a sporty woman or maybe someone who likes combat. I'd say it's not such a bad thing. I've never really met any Aries risings in my life, but that's just because I don't know people's birth times. I think Aries rising is good because it makes you extroverted and it makes you come off as a strong, independent, self-assured woman.

I'm really worried about the fact that I have progressed Cancer ascendant because I'm scared I will be a very emotional person. Deep inside, yeah, I am. But since I have air as my dominant element, I don't really like being emotional. In fact, the only water placement I have is the Moon, which I'm thankful for. Other than that, I'm not sure I want any other water placements. I don't wanna be shy or introverted. I've also read Cancer risings tend to gain weight easier as well.

I haven't noticed any significant weight loss(I'm quite slim as is and so I don't desire to lose any) but I do see that Gemini Asc people are usually tall. Is it too late to hope and wish for a growth sprout at 30?

I also have natal Moon in Cancer btw and I think that is the reason as to why your face appears round. The Moon does affect physical appearance too-especially in women.

In my case, its through my eyes.My head is leaning towards being oval. Or maybe it is round? Ehhh, I don't know.

Lol the fact that you have many things going on at once is proof that your ascendant is really progressing into Gemini. Also, forgetfulness (I think) is a Gemini trait since it's a fickle air sign and its energy is scattered everywhere--unless you have something to ground that.

I'm not really sure if we humans actually grow taller at 30. I've heard you stop growing when you're 18. Which is really sad bc I'm almost 18.

And I have 1st house Moon, so yeah, I think that makes me have a Cancerian face.

@ Solar - if it makes you feel any better I have six natal libra planets and most have progressed into scorpio. plus my north node is in scorpio so I went from Taurus sn to scorpio nn, on top of the progressions. Your cancer asc would not make you emotional I don't think. More likely it will make you appear kind and soft natured. Looks wise cancer women are generally very beautiful and feminine. As far as the weight, if you know there is a tendency to gain, then you can minimize the effects with exercise and good eating habits.

@fauxcoat

So do you feel more Scorpionic lately? I think having a progressed ascendant ruled by Mars and most of your planets progressing into another Mars-ruled planet would most likely make you more passionate and sexier than usual (because of Scorpio). I think the sex drive will be intense and so will your feelings be. You might also be more secretive and combative now than usual. I don't really know Aries risings appearance-wise, but I've read it adds masculinity to a woman. But since you have a progressed Scorpio stellium, which is still a feminine sign, I think you'd be fine. You will be sexy, I think, but in a feminine fashion. Plus, the progressed chart doesn't completely change you. The feminine qualities Libra bestows you with will stay. Maybe not very obvious, but they will stay.

And yeah I guess you're right about the weight thing. The only problem is, right now, Jupiter is transiting my first house. I'm really trying not to overindulge. Thanks to Saturn trining Jupiter, though, I have my diet kept in check.

I'm really feeling my progressed AC harshly.
I've gone from a 14' Sag to a 0-1'
Aquarius. This is considered a critical degree.
It feels yucky too. You'd think my being
a Sun, Moon, Venus natal Aqu this would be a breeze (pun intended). Instead my personal relationships feel so foreign, due to my over indulgence of thought. Learning and such.
Emotionally, this has been a tough Progression yr, maybe because I'm used to the 2nd and 3rd decan of Aqu, this is so opposite for me.

I'll put my two cents worth in here since I did not 3 years ago when this thread was started.

My ascendant has also progressed into Cancer. I wonder if it's relative to this change.

No. There is always the question of the accuracy of the natal Asc to begin with in order to produce accurate progressions, etc. But what you are talking about is the common method of secondary progressed Asc as shown on the charts made for you at sites like astro.com. That is a symbolic fiction long accepted by astrologers due to their obsession/fascination with 1° equivalencies, but which does not track the Asc as it actually moves according to the Earth's rotation. In other words, it is not based on nature, but is arbitrarily imposed on charts by humans.

Every sign of the zodiac cross the horizon every 24 hours, which mean in progressions this should happen every year. That means roughly a degree of movement per day, a sign per month. That is too quick a movement to have a slow developmental influence on your physical characteristics which are fundamentally genetic, but influenced by the most prominent planets in your natal chart (conjunct/parallel Asc or MC, or in square to one/both)

quote:

I also noticed my relationship patterns this year has changed as well. My Venus is progressing at 29 deg Virgo--almost at Libra.

This is a good example of where developmental changes can be triggered, of the unfolding of the potentials in personality.

In my case, not much.

My progressed ascendant is in Libra, and I don't look anything like a Libra. The Cancer you see is likely your Moon, as you have Moon in Cancer. Progressions effect personality mainly, as I've noticed that I'm becoming less shy and justice is becoming very important, which my blogs show. I can still see the Gemini rising in both your pictures easily.

I want to know how much progressions can change one's characteristics that were printed on the natal chart.

For example, I noticed that I look more Cancerian now than a Gemini rising. My face is round and I have Cancerian eyes. I'm also voluptuous and I realized I'm actually short (5'1" here). I'm still optimistic and chatty, though. It's just my appearance had changed significantly. As a kid, I used to be really skinny and I looked tall even if I wasn't. It was hard for me to gain weight or even stay at home. I was always on the go. By the time I was eleven, I started gaining weight and started enjoying being at home and sleeping in more. But I still went out with people. Most of the time, I just found comfort at home more than the outside world unlike when I was younger.

Me as a kid:

Me NOW:

My ascendant has also progressed into Cancer. I wonder if it's relative to this change.

I also noticed my relationship patterns this year has changed as well. My Venus is progressing at 29 deg Virgo--almost at Libra. It just started progressing to that degree this month, I think. I used to not care for much about being single (I still kinda do, but I kinda don't), but now, it's like I feel that intense longing for a relationship. Like I wanna experience romance and I don't care anymore if I end up getting hurt. I've been more flirty than before as well. I'm more impulsive in love now.

Those are the only two placements that are changing signs disregarding the Moon since it changes every two years. It feels like progressions really make their mark on us as much as Solar Returns.

What do you guys think?
