Hey people!

How do you react to those who don't believe in Astrology? Personally, I don't care if they don't believe but if they starts mocking Astrology, I get fired up. My older sister doesn't believe in Astrology and calls it Fake. No matter what I say, she just repeats "fake" and "useless".

Her Sun is in Virgo and Moon in Sagittarius.

My Sun in Taurus and Moon in Scorpio.

How do you react and were there any experiences ?

I don't get fired up at all if someone doesn't believe in it.

Maybe because I used to be one of those people.

But then I met an astrologer who told me very specific details about my life that they could not have possibly have known. It was at a cheesy fair and I won a free reading so I went and got it, but only because it was free and I had nothing else to do. Did not believe in it at all.

And I'm not an idiot... I didn't give this man any clues at all as to my life. The only thing I gave him was my date/time/location of birth. Not even my name or even small talk did I give him.

From that point I simply could not deny that there was truth in astrology and I set out to learn about it myself.

Anyway, not everyone needs astrology. Some people's birth charts are so blessed that they don't need astrology to warn them when something bad might happen. They go through life getting everything handed to them. People like this have no need of astrology.

You could tell her that with that combination, it's exactly what you would expect from her.

My best friend's a Sun in Aquarius, Moon in Gemini and she couldn't care less about astrology lol. She always says, "There are about 7 billion people in the world, and you want to divide their personalities into 12 signs?" I've tried explaining to her it goes deeper than just sun signs, but she never cares to listen. She doesn't see how planets' alignments during her time of birth could shape or even explain her personality, life, and so forth.

I've got a Leo friend, with Moon in Leo as well, who thinks she knows it all with astrology. She consistently bases people off of their sun signs, which I tell her all the time isn't necessarily always accurate, but she tries to tell me differently. She's tried to get into the whole birth chart thing and checking out aspects but feels she knows enough about sun signs and can learn enough about a person through sun signs. It was a little aggravating when I was having issues with my partner and she would respond, "Well, that's a Sagittarius for you!" I would just roll my eyes because it wasn't worth it anymore lol.

I've noticed a trend among particular elements in regards to believing in astrology.

Earth signs are the least likely to believe or people with heavy predominant earth. They're usually closed off and can't wrap their little heads about how planets and constellations could affect them since its not material or practical. Air signs are slightly more open to believe and are certainly more open about the idea because it fascinates them but again, their logical mind can't really compel them to really believe and sink their teeth in.

I've noticed its the fire and water people that tend to believe the most as they are in touch with the subjective experience of life much more so than the other 2 elements. Its no coincidence that I'm fire and water dominant lol. Also makes no coincidence that earth typically tends to be my least favorite element, specifically because of its close mindedness, something I cannot stand. That means i like air signs a lot more since they are open at least and can talk about stuff, but still get very frustrated because if its not logical, they're close minded as well. So I noticed I tend to gravitate towards fire and water signs simply because I can relate to them and them to me far better (or people who are dominant in these elements)

I don't care until they start mocking astrology. After that, I mostly either defend astrology scientifically/logically or mock their beliefs. Sometimes, I just keep quiet. Depends on my mood.

There was this Leo who asked me what I was doing and I said learning astrology. Then he decided to deride me so I started interpreting his chart and all he said was 'No, I'm not like that', 'That's not me'...

I got together with my Scorpio ex because of astrology. At a cybercafe, he saw me staring at a wheel on the computer screen and asked what it was. So I offered him a reading and then it all started. There's a lot that can happen over astrology.

I've got into a cycle with my guy where he mocks my astrological beliefs and I make fun of his religious beliefs. It's become an everyday thing and now neither of us really feels offended. He's a stubborn bull close to new ideas.

Deep inside if I talk about Astrology to someone who doesn't seem to believe, I get a little upset I guess, because to me it's like, why trash-talk something that you know so little of, and have no real reasoning behind your disbelief about it that can back it up saying it isn't real? In my opinion, it makes no sense to me for someone to say that they don't believe in something UNLESS they have already studied it. But sense I'm usually such a soft-spoken, doesn't-like-to-create-conflict person, I tend to keep my mouth shut and try not to think about slapping the person lol. Most of the time though I have not encountered anyone bad-mouthing Astrology when I have told them that it's one of my biggest interests/hobbies.

Sir Isaac Newton once said to a friend who asked him why he believed in Astrology because it was so 'rubbish', "Sir, I have studied the matter. You have not!"

When I meet someone who is a skeptic I just tell them to think about it..the moon affects the tides here on the earth right? So why wouldn't the other chunks of rocks out there in outer space not have some affect on us or the earth? They usually tell me that I have a point..But I like trying to "convert" people though, I find it fun and challenging!

I think what turns some people off are those people who solely focus on sun signs and nothing else. But when I explain to them that it's much deeper than that AND I present them with a piece of evidence, such as an explanation for an aspect or placement they have in their chart, sometimes it's clicks. Really the major challenge is just getting them to sit down and listen, I think astrology depending on how knowledgeable the person is explaining it will speak for itself.

That's funny b/c I'm an Aquarius w/ Moon in Gemini and I LOVE astrology!

If someone shows interest, I'll explain the basics of it. If someone clearly shows no interest, then I won't bother at all. I feel like it drains MY energy trying to explain astrology to someone who is outwardly against it. At that point, I'm pushing my beliefs onto them.

If they say they don't believe in it, but are willing to hear my explanation on it, then for sure I would explain it.

It's funny b/c five years ago I could have cared less about astrology. I was also atheist and thought anything spiritual was BS. I'm the complete opposite now lol. Funny how certain things unfold in your life.

I don't care if they mock it or don't believe in it. I don't want everyone to 'get it'. You need some level of psychological curiosity for yourself and those around you to be interested in astrology.
Some people are focused on other things in life. To each their own.

I'm an Atheist and I believe in Astrology.

You don't have to believe souls exist in order to believe Astrology has an impact on the brain.

Since this phenomenon baffles me as to how it works scientifically, I'm still not 100% sure that Astrology is true. But for now, I believe it is, until I conclude otherwise.

The only time I will give someone a pass if they say they don't believe in Astrology is when they base everything on logic and Science (I understand and respect that 200%). Otherwise, if they have any sort of religion or believe souls exist or spirituality, they will sure be in for it.

I am 80% earth dominant. Still here I am. In a supposedly closed-mindedness of mine, I think that you can gravitate on fire/water types without looking down on earth/air types.

I am not being mean, just assertive. You can find quality people in every sign/ dominant element. And bad-quality ppl in every sign/dominant element.

At least, that's my belief.

This is true, and I wasn't trying to be mean either. In fact, I probably value Earth more than the other elements simply because its the one I lack the most. But regarding Astrology, my point still stands and I get frustrated easily with them is all. You are really the exception and not the rule. I've met loads of water signs that believe, but not too many Earth. And I was more speaking of the tendency towards disbelief, due to the closing off of anything not practical, and more importantly rational. If Earth predominant people took the time to study it, they would find it is very practical for them, which I'm guessing is what you did. Its just that initial tendency towards not even being curious and immediately shutting it out that annoys me. I seriously think I need to be more close-minded though, my mind is too open for my own good sometimes. The opposite of Fire is Earth after all. But as you can see, my bias clouded my first post ever so slightly xD. You are also so right on good and bad of every sign, nothing could be more true.

Hmm, interesting, I also have a mars in fire singleton and a pluto in water singleton. I know what you mean abb valueing what you mostly lack.

And what got me into astrology FIRST wasn't really the pragmatic side, but my gem sun, huge curiosity^^ (after that, ofc I am getting advantage of the knowledge in here and use it for the best. well, that's what earth does) I did noticed that water types are deeper into astrology ofc! but there are also taureans/virgos/capricorns really into it.

Glad that I found out your opinion is not based on dividing but on equality/or acceptance.
Wish you a nice day!:)

I started learning about Astrology when I was 10 years old so back then, I would get upset simply because I didn't and still don't understand how so someone cannot believe in something so real. Now? I still get upset but the difference is I get upset and let it go in one ear and out the other. If everyone knew this wonderful truth, life wouldn't be as exciting anymore.. at least in my opinion. If too many people knew the secret of life, we would al be screwed.

My Mercury in Scorpio is just fine with people thinking astrology is invalid. I have an extra tool in my skill set to give me advantage in this poker game of human relationships.
