Has anyone of you ever seen a couple surviving without a planet in the 7th house in synastry?

I mean the 7th house represents the ideal in a partner. What if someone can't fufill this (astrologically speaking)?

I didn't have any planets in my Taurus ex's 7th and he wanted to marry me! He named our future kids and all that. I don't think we would have lasted forever happily. I broke up with him and broke his heart. Several times.

He had 2 planets conjunct my desc. We also had my asc conjunct his desc.

of course. people without 7th house overlays in synastry get married all the time. and i'm certain some of them last forever. the 7th house represents (among others things) marriage and partnership, but it doesn't represent an "ideal partner." if you have a partner's planets falling there they are bringing traits to the forefront that you'd like to have in a partner (like if their mercury is there you'd love the way they communicate, if their venus sits there they'd romance you how you enjoy, etc.), but it's not the only house you look at for "ideal" because that can be generated through any house, really. as long as the partners have a good synastry all-around it really doesn't make that much difference if the 7th house is empty/not overlayed, although it's really good to see something there. for example, i have a capricorn moon (pretty shy and reserved), but it sits in my partners 8th house; that is a better placement than the 7th in this instance, and for that moon, because it 'warms' that colder moon up. it's a chart-by-chart basis and not an absolute when you look at synastry. all planets in someone's 7th house doesn't equal marriage and forever just as an absence of 7th house placements doesn't spell doom.
