I have Mercury in Aries, but lately I've been accused of lying, and not being straightforward. I'm an honest person though and I don't lie maliciously… tend to be half-truths unless you ask a very specific question. Not detailed or literal at all. But again this isn't a conscious effort…when I'm talking I have to get my thoughts out before I forget so I kind of make "rounded out" statements, if you will.

I have Mercury square Saturn and Neptune, but thought the orbs are too wide to have an effect.

Something else I thought might cause this would be Mercury sextile Mars in Gemini in the 12th house, or Mercury conjunct Venus causing glib responses. Maybe the semi-square to Jupiter (also in the 12th)?

Does anybody else have this problem? What are your Mercury aspects?

Oh mygod, I am the same way. It annoying isn't it? It never fails. Everybody (close friends I mean) think I am a pathological liar. The nonly time I lie is to buy time.

Aries in 3rd house, Mercury in Scorpio
Mercury square Mars in 8th house. Mercury square Jupiter, Mercury square Saturn, Mercury conjunct or trine Neptune, Mercury square ASC

I used to be a pathological liar through my early 20s. I'm much better now. I do still tell half-truths or I simply don't answer if I don't want to lie, but that's different from a genuine lie.

Mercury in 8th conjunct 3 other planets all opposite chiron in Gemini in 3rd.
