i was born at 12:27. at 12:30 the ASC changed to another sign. so my ASC is at the very last degree, but the sign that it switched to at 12:30 - i have 2 planets of that sign in my 1st house. what does one do in this instance, when the ASC's are so close? what description do you go with?IP: Logged |

If you are sure your birth time is correct then you are the asc on the horizon at 12:27. Think of it like watching the sun or moon rise, they aren't immediately over the horizon line, its a gradual process. Same with the asc, its just not a visible thing. With it being SO close and having 2 planets in the following sign I'm sure it would give you characteristics of that sign physically and personality wise. Especially if the planets are in the beginning degrees of that sign, so conjunct your Asc. IP: Logged |

I agree with LionFish. But if you are still not happy, you can opt to do a birth time rectification. That is what I did to find the most likely time that I was born in. But for this, it helps if you have siblings born after you, some early memories of significant changes in your life as well as planets in the 3rd, 6th ,9th and 12th house that arc the angles 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th. YouTube has some excellent videos on how to ascertain your correct birth time. Well, at least, in their opinion- as everything is relative. IP: Logged |

i have birth time correct. i have always known it and had my mom verify it again from my birth certificate just last night. i knew i had a late degree ASC but didn't realize 2 to 3 minutes after my birth time it went to the next ASC sign. i have always 'felt' more like the 12:30 ASC and was never completely satisfied that the 12:27 one fit me. i do think when it's this close the one on the horizon would be it. nice way to frame it! i actually didn't realize ASC signs changed on the half-hour either... i always thought it was on the hour IP: Logged |

Some rising signs have even smaller windows, especially depending on where in the world you are. For example, Pisces rising, which is a rare rising sign, for the window can be as little as 12-20 minutes on the ecliptic, depending in where you are (I.e. Paris, France).IP: Logged |

that is interesting, and further reason (for me) why people shouldn't be so keen to guess when it comes to a person's ASC. if some can change so swiftly the likelihood of being right decreases when you guess.
