I can't get over this, I can only really relate to sun signs. My proof of this is every single Aquarius I've met I get along with, even if their rising signs square mine. Leo Risings seem to love me. Its like a weird fascination they have with me. Thing is, like I said in another thread, I do not share this same fascination with Leo risings. In fact, I actually kind of look down on them for some reason. Well, not really look down, but see them as fakes and not worthy of my REAL affections. Those I save mainly for Fire suns. Earth sun signs are meh for me, as well as most water signs except scorpios. But Rising signs I just can't seem to see in people. IP: Logged |

your sampling is very small for your conclusion. especially since most people don't even know their own rising sign. you probably get along with lots of rising signs regardless of their element, and will never know it because you'll never know the rising of every person you interact with. The thing is, I never have the attraction to Earth or Water suns like I do with Fire or Air suns. It just isn't there, regardless of who it is. There's always something missing. Even if they act nothing like their Sun Sign, the energy is still there. IP: Logged |

Me too. I've never met a Cancer who I didn't fight with. And, in fact, I can recognize them instantly, mostly because I feel irritated by them the very second I lay my eyes on them. My favourite actors are all Aries, the music I enjoy listening to is mostly made by Fire sign musicians. Favourite dancers - Aries or Capricorns. Favourite figure skaters - Aries, all of them. Have you read my reply to you in that "Fun, would you rather game" thread? Has that brought any insight as to how a Leo Ascendant can become out of control and exhibit all of it's qualities? (well except the spotlight and attention thing, I don't like that) IP: Logged |

Hmmm... Well the rising sign is like a social mask, or the filter through which we give energy out into the world receive it back. It's very surface oriented and doesn't say much at all about the person's true inner core (unless they have other placements in the same sign as the rising). The Sun sign, on the other hand, describes the core identity of who we feel we are underneath our social mask. I often pick up on people’s Sun or Moon signs quite strong just by observing them. For some reason they stand out to me more then the rising sign, as if I’m able to see past the social mask they wear, and into the energy patterns they have at deeper levels. However, after I learn a person’s rising sign it usually makes sense in terms of that person’s surface personality, mannerisms etc. Everything in the chart has it’s function. The Sun shows our sense of purpose, and where we like to shine. When we succeed at things related to the Sun’s position in our chart it makes us feel more ’alive’, as we’ve really started to express the true essence of ourselves. In the solar system all the planets revolve around the Sun… In the natal chart the Sun shows our central mission, and the rest of the planets are like the personal ’tool box’ we’re able to utilize in support of that mission. The Moon seems to show something even deeper then our ego identity. It shows the general mood of our emotional foundation, our ‘inner child’ dynamics, and where we run to for shelter and security. If something goes wrong in our lives, our pride is broken, and we’re freaking out, we often start acting strongly inline with our Moon sign. The Moon’s position describes how we behave when we feel like crying to mommy. Even if we’re putting up a brave façade, the energy of our Moon will leak out to others when our emotions are stirred, we want comfort, or we seek to comfort others. A person with a Gemini Sun and a Capricorn Moon, would feel most ’alive’ when they are learning and communicating. When they are recognized for these abilities they will feel they’re being recognized for who they truly are. They identify with the role our a communicator and a thinker. At their core, they feel that it’s their central motivation. However, they would also crave material security and respectability, not because they identify with being this super responsible type person (like a Capricorn Sun does), but because they NEED it to feel safe. When times get tough this person may switch from being a lighthearted social butterfly to a rigid stoic type, that has a business-like attitude to problem solving. They would comfort others by being firm yet realistic with them. With the rising sign… Basically, it describes a person's outlook… If like if a stage, the rising sign basically describes the type of ‘play’ they see going on around them. A Capricorn rising sees a world in which people need to work in order to gain or maintain security and status. A Leo sees a world filled with personal dramas and glory, where different egos conflict or support each other. A Gemini rising sign sees a world full of curiosities to be explored. And so on. Added to that, of course the rising sign describes the style and mannerisms that others see us express on a surface level. When they tune into our frequency on deeper levels, though, they might get a very different vibe. Yeah, I have noticed that masculine Sun signs still ‘feel’ like masculine Suns on an energy level, even if they’re introverted due to other placements in their chart. It’s a vibe thing. The reverse is true. Feminine Suns usually still ‘feel’ like feminine Suns, even if they’re extroverted due to other placements in their chart. In general that is. There are occasional exceptions to this. I’m a Capricorn Sun myself, and romantically I usually find masculine Suns more attractive. I think it’s a yin/yang thing. I like the contrast, plus my chart indicates this as well. For friendship I’m open to any Sun sign really.
