When a planet is conjunct the ascendant from the dark side (twelfth house) it is said to be in a void of sorts, invisible, and it's power is warped even though it is stronger since it is conjunct the point of Aries. If it is conjunct the ascendant from the light side, the first house, the planet is strong, angular, and functions for better or worse depending on aspects. It is strengthened. IP: Logged |

I have to disagree. My Mars is on the dark side-28 Virgo-and is SUPER strong in me! I am a Martian Bulldozer in all I do! Men, sex, sports, work, friends, food. I plough life as if tomorrow will never come. Now, I also have Mars semi sq. Sun AND Moon so this would also add to it I assume? p.s. the ONLY thing that is not as forward is my direct anger because I know that when I release it things will get really bad and I will not stop until my point is understood. I prefer to be "zen" and manage 9/10 times but that 1 time? Watch out. IP: Logged |

thats a good explanation, but i asking first house and not conjunct to the asc. Or is it considered conjunct when it's in the first house? sorry if this is a stupid question

The ascendant is the strongest part of the first house since it is a cusp so if planets, luminaries, nn, sn, are conjunct, they are stronger and emphasized. If they are just in the first house, they are still strong because they are in an angular house. The ascending degree is strongest.

What if someone is born with a planet in the first house not conjunct asc and then the ascendant progresses to the same degree and conjuncts planet? what effects would this give? IP: Logged |

I have jupiter in 12th house conjunct my ascendant, I don't feel it's dark over me…I feel very lucky with many things, great opportunities comes into my life pretty often, especially in love. Right now I have just had a close transit too with jupiter conjunction ascendant, it's a very wonderful aspect to have both nataly, in synastry and in transit!IP: Logged |
