I see many secret astrology references everywhere, it could be a coincidence but I'm not sure…as for just an example the singer from austria in Eurovision this year Conchita Wurst is a scorpio and her song is about transforming and rising like a phoenix - a clear astrology reference don't you think? A lot of people in the entertainment industry are interested in astrology and that includes celebs. But I don't think references to astrology necessarily mean that the person knows a lot about it.IP: Logged |

great point - i can see a lot of air head discussions regarding astrology like Brad Pitt trying to discuss astro physics - it would sound really bad.

Also rap-singer Iggy Azalea comes with a reference to her being on a spaceship to Mercury (and she is a gemini which is ruled by mercury) it's maybe a coincidence but it's a cool one lol

Yea...to understand astrology truly you can't be a dolt. You have to be able to understand psychology. Just because you're famous doesn't mean that you are astute. Famous people who speak about things tend to give them a bad reputation like cheap horoscopes in newspaper. IP: Logged |

Beyoncé is an interesting one... she might actually be into this stuff to some degree, at least numerology, she is obsessed with the number 7 or 4, I can't recall which, but she plans everything around a number. celebs are just like us, they have interests too, and some might know more than others. I remember that guy "the rock" saying his mother was an astrologer professionally, so it might be an influence from friends/family, or people they hear talking, you can draw inspiration from the words of others when you're an artist, it doesn't mean *they* are into it IP: Logged |

No I don't. A person who does not believe in astrology is just as likely to come up with a song about rising and transforming than someone who doesn't. The theme of transformation is an event that happens to most people in their life times.

That's my point - most celebs who reference astrology don't know much about it beyond Sun signs. A good example is Pharrell Williams. I heard him on Howard Stern the other day and he had a good grasp of Sun signs but clearly had no understanding of astrology beyond that. quote:

Also, Regulus and such ARE an ASTRONOMY thing as well...can't assume Astrology. But yes, of course celebs know about astro---at least their basic Sun sign name to read in the newspaper..;pIP: Logged |

I believe - and don't quote me on this - that I once read something about Rowling saying Hermione had a Virgo-like personality. If I'm correct, I think Hermione was a Sag, though? And Ron was an Aries. I know she dabbled with it and did have some consistency throughout it with compatibility and personality traits i.e.: Harry being a Leo, Voldemort a Capricorn. I can see similarities there.I know Megan Fox is into astrology, but I'm not sure how deep she goes into it. Robert Downey Jr talked about his personal astrologer on the cover of astrologer Steven Forrest's (he is the said personal astrologer) book 'Yesterday's Sky.' Taylor Swift mentions in one of her songs, "twin fire signs" (song: "State of Grace") about her and Jake Gyllenhaal, both Sags. "Millionaires don't have astrologers, billionaires do." - JP Morgan. I've also read that JP Morgan was supposed to board the titanic but decided against it because his astrologer advised him not to. That could be rumored, though.

She's obsessed with the number 4 because both she and Jay-z were born on the 4th days of whatever months they were born in, and they were also married on the 4th of whatever month they got married in lol. I'm not sure about the number 7, but I know their daughter was born on the 7th of January. So I don't think it's so much numerology as just knowing the dates and noticing the coincidences. It's an intriguing thought and you may be right, but I think maybe Conchita Wurst's song has more to do with being "reborn" as her drag queen persona. There could be more to it obv, but I think it wouldn't be too strange if a scorpio naturally emphasizes with the phoenix and so coincidentally chooses to sing about it. It would be interesting to look at her other songs/statements to see which it is. A coincidence or an astrological reference. IP: Logged |
