For example...I'm a gemini ascendant. I believe that when I learn a word, my conciousness expands because the word alludes to an idea that I couldn't know before without naming it.

As our conciousness expands we become more aware of everything out there (or in here)...as we see what foreign galaxies are made of...we see what infinitely smaller things are made of. Like that...we also become more concious of our inner as we become more concious of our outer.

So we can learn new words to help describe our inner and outer natures.

I see in this world many false spiritual teachers of my generation. Young guys who smoke a lot of pot and drink and promote themselves as dating gurus giving rag tag spiritual knowledge and claiming that certain outer circumstances demonstrate spiritual qualities.

This to me is a confusion of the inner and outer and simply put very primitive and barbaric.

It's not what other people say about us that matters...it's what we think of ourselves that matters...we can't measure our spiritual progress by anything except for what we come to on our own...and that's going to be different for every person.

For me...I mark it by the words in my life. I'm a gemini ascendant...my soul expands when I learn right relations by communications.

Can you please share your ascendant sign and your own experience of soul expansion.

This is on the fringe of esoteric astrology.

Interesting. This makes sense...a friend who is a scorpio ascendant divorced because he was in a sexless marriage...it would seem that it thwarted his soul expansion.

I would feel the same way to a degree but more so if I could not speak freely...or speak my mind.

To me a sense of expansion is related to being at peace and content. Knowledge does it too, and I have nothing in Gemini. So, I wonder if other planets have a bearing on this. What about NN?

Learning words can only increase your knowledge though, not consciousness. Having said that, words can be used to expand consciousness. There are techniques of self-remembering in which we need to keep repeating certain words. It requires lots of effort and I found it extremely boring. Only something which you’ve realized on your own will help you in expanding your consciousness. Running will help you.

As a Gemini ascendant...I know what you mean...when I speak of learning a word I mean learning the soul and spirit of the word too...so it's a little different for me than simply writing down the definition...it expands my consciousness becomes I become self aware..

For example...if you do not know what pensive means...then you cannot know what shallow means...if you do not know what pensive means then how can you know how you feel when you're pensive? You cannot know how you feel...you can only feel it...you are unconscious of how you feel because you feel reflective...yet you cannot know how you feel.

If you are hurting inside but you do not know what hurting is then we are unconscious of our hurting...once we learn what our hurting is we can be even more specific...but we can't actually think about what is affecting us until we define it...

Then we can verbalize it in thought and our soul can download our heart message.

Conciousness is the opposite of unconciousness...therefore conciousness and knowing go hand in hand.

If you we blindly move through life unconcious of what is happening to us then we have no knowledge...and when we aquire knowledge our conciousness expands..

I think maybe what you're getting at is that if you can be of service by being recognized because that's what the aquarius/leo polarity alludes too...would I be incorrect to assume this?

Though as a Pisces Sun, I know security is really just an illusion and see it as silly, false. But my behavior indicates otherwise. I do not feel the strongest connection to my Ascendant though I know I come across as a Cancer and have become more like one outwardly as I've become older. I am very close to family, am an affectionate person, like being at home. But I have always felt like a Pisces really.

I think mine is very Taurean because it's like pushing a big rock down a hill. If it's been sitting on the hill for awhile then totally fine but once you've pushed it, watch out!
