me too. but i think this is because the family tries to keep the person alive for 'one more celebration' type of thing. it's too common to be otherwise. i wrote obituaries for 5 years at a paper and yeah, date of death was usually within 2-3 days of the birthday if it was an illness as opposed to sudden accident
