I have Venus in 8th and there is a suggestion that such a position could indicate bankruptcy or the death of a spouse(or both). My Venus is ruler of the 2nd and 7th and since its in the 8th house of "loss", "death" etc. I am assuming that my interpretation is not too far off. Do you have Venus in 8th and have you experienced loss with regards to the house that Venus rules? IP: Logged |

You'd need some strong transits for that, Pluto Saturn Uranus maybe Neptune on the 7th and 8th. A combination of these planets actually, maybe with Juno involved too.I have Venus ruler of IC/9th on the 8th house cusp. IP: Logged |

Not really. Not more than anyone else, I'd say even less. Neither pertaining to 9th house either. So that's what I'm saying, simply having Venus in 8th does not bring doom to the ruled house. IP: Logged |

Hi, Aries23. I have the same placement and, no, it doesn't necessarily indicate the death of a lover or spouse. I've found that many astrologers focus way too heavily and/or literally on the dark aspects of the 8th house (and the 12th, for that matter).Situations surrounding romantic relationship can FEEL like deaths. Metaphorical deaths, if you will. Maybe separations will be challenging. It also can indicate that the end of each relationship will leave you feeling reinvented and transformed (death of old self or outlook/birth of new one). On a positive note, I've read that 8th House Venus people tend to benefit financially from serious relationship. And, hey, nothing wrong with that, right? If anything, because Venus is such a peaceful planet, I think that it tends to mellow the 8th House's influence a bit. I think Mars in the 8th can promise situations that are a bit more tragic or violent or dangerous, since Mars is about war and all that stuff. I have that placement also and I've already had two near-death experiences in my life. ------------------ Check out My Astrology Blog: http://astroarena12.blogspot.com IP: Logged |

I agree. Love is a transformative all-encompassing experience for 8th house Venus to say the least. IP: Logged |

Maybe the description, taken from the head up, seems very sad. From a psychological point of view, it seems valid to say that someone with this position will experience the themes of the house Venus rules very deeply. Ruler of 2nd house in 8th- One places a very high value on intimacy. One spends money in investment plans. Ruler of 7th house in 8th- One marries for sex. One's partnerships can easily overstep boundaries and get sexual. Here's the thing, though. Saturn started to transit the 8th house, I lost my job and have been in limbo since. Saturn is the ruler of the 10th house and I figured that since Venus is in the 8th house nataly, it is likely that I will also experienced some sort of loss with regards to the areas that Venus rules.

That's different. Saturn transiting 8th house could bring endings. That's your clue, not Venus there. Other aspects between this Saturn and your natal aspects? What about your progression with transits? What is the ruler of your 10th house and what happens to it during this transit? I am sorry you've lost your job, I hope you find a better one soon enough IP: Logged |

Thanks. I feel a change coming on. Am not sure of the details, but something has got to give as Uranus and Pluto are flirting with the cusp of my 1st house and the 10th house respectively. Well, Saturn(ruler of the 10th) aspects Moon, Mercury(ruler of 6th), Venus(ruler of 2nd/7th) and natal Saturn by trine, sextile, conjunction and conjunction respectively. As far as my progressed chart is concerned, I am now an Aquarius Sun with Virgo moon. There are no aspects that pops out between Saturn and them I think I'm just trying to make sense of what is going on with me right now. IP: Logged |

You mean Uranus is on your ASC and Pluto on your MC? But these are big changes, Aries! That's the reason for your job change. IP: Logged |

My progressed venus and mars are officially in my 8th house at the very end working their way towards the beginning of the 8th....I wonder how that would play out with transits.. Do transits affect progressions?? IP: Logged |

I think transits affect everything Transits on progressions are very much "in the moment" IP: Logged |

Yes. Well, its not exact. Thing is, my Asc is 19 Degrees Aries and MC is 20 Degrees Capricorn. Transiting Pluto is widely conjunct it(7 Degrees) and Transiting Uranus is definitely getting closer(4 Degrees). There are small inconveniences that are happening on the home front. And that could be because my Moon(ruler of the IC) is squaring Uranus: My geyser broke, my cell stopped working in its entirety, we've had neighborhood load-sheds and these irritating things just keep on coming. As far as my career is concerned, I can feel myself growing some much needed balls. There is something in the winds of change. I don't know what it is, but i feel it coming and it could change everything. Oh yes, and Jupiter is closely opposing the MC(2 Degrees) and conjunct the IC(2 Degrees).
