How would you astrologically explain each tendency? What kind of thinking dominates in your case? Or maybe you only think in one way? Some info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_thinking I think (in words right now, hihi) visual thinking is connected with Neptune and thinking in words with prominent Mercury or Gemini. It seems to me I tend to think in images (or videos ) more often and it's probably because of my Sun conjunct Neptune and Sagittarius Mercury. ------------------ I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy. This would explain why I'm considered left and right brained among my friends and family...I have a gemini ascendant mercury conjunct uranus but I have a sun conjunct neptune...and a moon in pisces..but a venus in aquarius. In fact these are perfect aspects for someone considered both visual/artistic and mathematical/logical... I think in both ways. Visual thinking most of the time, and thinking in words when I'm less creative. But even when I think in words, I visualize letters, would that be thinking in words or visual thinking? But if I have to memorize something, I have to visualize. Otherwise I can't remember it. So, I think visual thinking dominates in my case.- Mercury in Pisces - Neptune in 3rd House IP: Logged |

If you see them, then it's visual quote: I think in both ways.

It's actually a curse. Let me explain. Many great thinkers were both visual and logical. The problem is they existed before the industrial revolution. After the industrial revolution, specialization became far more valuable than generalization, although argubably, against the best interests of the human race, since this sort of specialization leads to a profound myopia responsible for global warming and genocide. But besides all that it's cool being able to hang out with both the jocks, mathletes, and goths!

Ok, but how do you think more often? I'm pretty sure it's seldom 50/50.------------------ I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy. IP: Logged |

Well...I can memorize things visualy almost instantly. I can look at your natal chart for a few minutes and memorize it permanently...I tend to think it's because I am good at learning systems visually if the parts are shown in relation geometrically. As opposed to data sets which are linear and logical...I tend to prefer geometry. I was also a geometry whiz..probably would have been a good architect but the field has been destroyed by mavens. Words.I have trouble visualizing things. Could be Mercury parallel Saturn?
ETA. Come to think of it, I do get "images", too. I mean it can't be just blank, right? I use both, but I really enjoy words. Visual "thinking" doesn't really qualify as "thinking" to me, it's more like daydreaming.

Visual. Words are always strongly attached to an image for me and are poetic. I like metaphors which I think is the image side of language. And like mind-mapping. Merc in Aries trine Neptune in sag IP: Logged |

I think more in words. As I think, I actually form the words with my tongue inside my mouth...and have to try really hard not to move my lips, haha... I actually usually have difficulty visualizing things. I mean, I can and sometimes do, but it kind of has the odd affectation of everything being verrrrry blurry. Like a bad Friday night. I have Mercury (chart ruler) in Taurus in the 8th, trine Neptune and Uranus (Capricorn), square my Nodal axis (Aquarius/Leo), sextile Jupiter (Cancer) and Venus (Pisces), and opposite Pluto (Scorpio). ------------------ Sun -> Aries Moon -> Sagittarius Ascendant -> Virgo IP: Logged |

Well.... Let me get your opinion. If someone tells me a story, or even just says what they are having to eat... Say, tacos... I always see it. Or... At work (mold injection)... If we have shorts (plastic fails to fill the cavity completely) I will think logically about what may be causing it. But I visualize the plastic in the cavity also... Like what may be wrong with the flow... Temp/pressure/speed/volume or mechanical. I like... See the action in my mind. If that makes sense. Same with electricity which is normally unseen. Stuff like that. I picture the flow or etc. Is this visual thinking? I'm being genuine about that question. I don't know how many others do that sort of thing. IP: Logged |

^ I guess that's it.I do that too, I think, but I barely notice it. Uh, it's hard to understand and even harder to explain. IP: Logged |
