It's in Taurus, and a Singleton.

I have this placement; in the sign of Scorpio.

I don't think I'm insane. I fight for my ideas, but I don't think I'm insane. Sure, they may be out of the ordinary ideas, but if I think it's logical, best bet I will stick with it all the way, regardless if it's controversial or unconventional.

I don't see "insane" as a bad thing, depending on what kind of "insane" we're dealing with.
The world needs all different kinds of people to thrive on a balance.

I did a little research (aka Google searching) on this after you brought it up, and I didn't find much on it leading to insanity. Only some talk about Rahu in the 3rd.

The only other things I got about it were water signs.. And Taurus is an earth sign.

I think it would also depend on what you mean by insane. There are many different mental health disorders, so it could be anything from bipolar disorder to schizophrenia to sociopathy.

I think you're in the clear, champ.

I have North Node (Rahu) in the 3rd House in Tropical/Placidus, lol.
In Vedic/Whole Sign, I have it in the 4th House.

Well.. I'm assuming, from your name, that you're intellectual... And insanity in intellectual people is like finding beer in Ireland.. So I wouldn't be surprised

I love Aries. I have 2 daughters the one I'm exceptionally close with has an Aries Stellium, we just laugh. The other has Aries Asc conjunct Moon, she's funny too.
I'm ok with being insane as long as I'm not the only one who doesn't realise I am.

I've got an Aries stellium as well sounds like a hoot. Anyway, your singleton mars could be to thank!

Haha.

Well I am intellectual, but my name doesn't necessarily imply that. But I'm sure a lot of people think I'm full of it with my name, so let me clarify.
It's "Mercurian Intellect", implying that I possess a Mercurian or Mercurial (I prefer using the term "Mercurian" instead of Mercurial" because if Venusian can be spelled with an "ian" at the end, then "Mercurial" can as well) intellect because I am a Virgo Sun, Gemini Moon and have Mercury; the planet of intellect, in the 3rd House of intellectual skills and communication - it's own house.
Being Venusian means that you're either from the planet Venus, or possess Venus's characteristics, and this can also apply with Mercury. "Mercurian" meaning someone is from the planet Mercury, or possessing the characteristics associated with Mercury.
Same thing with "Martian"
Besides, I think "Mercurial" describes the state of something more, rather than it's origins and characteristics.

Got cha I don't think you come off as full of it.. If you've got it, flaunt it. But your explanation does make sense. I was being too literal

Ah, okay.
And it's okay, it's a common misconception with my name.
And yeah, I'm a Leo Ascendant, with can partially explain why I wanted to name myself that - to flaunt what I'm about, haha

Mars in Scorpio, 3rd house, almost unaspected. It mostly gives me a restless mind, an obsession to probe and to learn. Or it might be 3rd house Pluto as well. I regulary feel I'm losing it, but my psychologist says I'm sane
I understand this insanity thing, though. Sometimes I doubt about my own thoughts. It's like they come to me uninvited and I HAVE to deal with them asap.
I don't think 3rd house Mars alone can cause insanity. The state of the Moon is more important for me.

Scorpio mars in the 3rd & I get told I'm insane all the time
Not psychotic, just insane

It's always told in a loving manner.
I just think and react different than most people.

People tend not to understand me (apart from my eldest daughter, who seems like my twin) and I always thought it was due to my Pisces rising, not my Mars.

What do you mean? Does this placement indicate a liking for Aries?

I'm not definite, but when I looked it up, I found another thread in which someone had implied that could be possible. I suppose because Mars is naturally ruled by Aries, so having a singleton may increase its importance and help you compatibility-wise with Aries. But considering I don't have a singleton Mars and wouldn't know firsthand, I wouldn't advise you to quote me on that. Just asking to see if it'd be relevant for you.

^ Oh ok, well yeah I do really like Aries, I also believe compatibility follows in families and my 3rd daughter has an Aries singleton. So all 3 of them are prominent in Aries....
