God I absolutely HATE this placement, it's retrograde as well and opposite Neptune which hits the nails on the coffin for me.

I can't just state my needs, I expect everyone to come to me, do the work for me untill I know that it's safe to open up, but the problem is, people are not really intuitive and don't intuit my needs so it results in me becoming passive aggressive. I would just like to assert myself but I'm scared of being hurt, I want to break this old crab shell. Give me another mars anyday, even a libra mars.

It shouldn't even be classed as a mars placement, it should be classed as "too lazy, sloppy, tired and emotional" how the hell is this even classed as a mars placement though?!

Is it possible to become assertive with this mars?

I hate it, too. What house is yours in. In the 12th House, it is killer. I don't have it, Thank Goodness, but my father does. I have it in the 10th.

Oh dear..I have that Focker as well.
Mine is in the 3th and its hard enough I dont want to imagine how it plays out in 12th or 8th? yikes!
I always expect others to exactly know what I want and need and if that does not happen, which is usually the case, I become aggressive and bitchy toward them but in silence..I am ****** off so to say but the other , usually, does not really have the clue why and its also mostly impossible for them to guess.
Damn Mars in Cancer!

Damn Mars in Cancer!

It is really pathetic, I don't just feel sorry for myself, but I feel sorry for others around me, it's a terrible curse. When I have one of those mars in cancer outbursts, people around me are just like "wtf?" and don't understand.

I cant even feel really sorry for the other and thats the curse as well! I guess my Taurus stubbornness makes the "duo terrible" with that Mars of mine. I know deep inside that I am " ****** " but i would never show it or even admit it to my self..rarely ! and usually only after I drove the other , and my self, crazy.

my current bf has a mars in cancer in the 4th. it's not my favorite sign at all, but having dated a mars in pisces i can say it's at least a little better than that placement. if you think cancer mars is passive and lazy you should meet a mars in pisces. neither is great for a man imo, but cancer mars at least has a lot of sympathy and is a shoulder to cry on, and a real source of comfort for bad times. and, in a relationship, that helps a lot. perhaps that's what would make a mars in cancer placement better for someone overall; having a partner where your energy can be rightly directed towards caring/nurturing the other person. by itself it could be a nuisance, but with a partner the energy is put to good use

I have mars in Pisces and a family member has mars in cancer...she is definitely more assertive and we basically have all the other placements the exact same except for outer planets.

She is very assertive for family memebers. IF someone bullied me she would step up right away...so maybe mars in cancer makes you assertive when it is cancerian themes that are involved...and of course in the house..

I have mars in the tenth and when it comes to those matters I am very assertive albeit it not overtly for I have mars in pisces...

There is always assertion and it's about style...

In boxing...styles make fights...therefore a fighter who has mars in aries will be thwarted by a boxer who has mars in taurus...

Mars in gemini is thwarted by mars in cancer...

Mars in gemini asserts by talking, communicating, trying to be witty in battle...

Mars in cancer asserts by standing to the side...it battles using the force of the archtypal mother or crab....crabs assert themselves by approaching their adversaries laterally as opposed to directly...

So a mars in cancer would be the archetypal counter puncher...

I must admit that this is true..When it comes to others and If I care for them I would protect them like a lioness no matter what! I generally dont let anybody attack or offend people I love, even if they are maybe in wrong....I would punish them, discuss the issue with them in private but I would never let others be bad with them while I am near..

Its a SOB that is for sure, but has its benefits. While I use to expect others to come to me it does not work like that, also the fussiness that goes with it or can go with it and can't forget the poor me self pity. Mine is in 12th but once I got more of a hold on it I am quite selfless in a relationship but not to a fault, it does lend to being romantic and protective as well which most woman out there find enduring, the rest of the nastiness with it not so much. It also lends itself to an easy going nature, better than uptight and in your face.
