Hi guys, I've come across a suggestion that degrees can make certain planets to be more appropriate for either house before it or after it?

For example, I've heard that if your planet is less than 10 degrees, it is more appropriate for such planet to be the ruler of the house before it.
Let's say.. Jupiter is in 11th house at 8 degrees..
Would it be more appropriate for jupiter to be in 10th house in this case?

Please and thank you

I am wondering this too. I read a book, I believe it was Astrology, Karma and Transformation by Stephen Arroyo, that said when a planet gets within about six degrees of the cusp, it starts to act like it is in that house. I don't think it works that way going backwards though (in the early degrees of the house).

It's said that apparently if you have a planet near the cusp of any sign, like within maybe 3-5 degrees of it, then that planet is typically interpreted into the next house and not the one before it because it's basically on the cusp, or super close to it, so the energy of that planet might suit better. I suppose the only way to really determine whether it suited or sounded better to the individual would be to read about having that planet in said house. I have my Mercury at 10 degrees Leo, and it is only 1 degree away from the cusp of my 3rd house which starts at 11 degrees Leo. So to me I interpret it as being in the 3rd house and not the 2nd, and it definitely resonates more with me anyways. I see that on astro.com they put 'Planets at the end of a house are interpreted in the next house.' on the Short Report - Personal Portrait on the side of the site.

When you have a planet +/-5° before the cusp of a house, it's considered to be in both houses. So feel free to interpret it in both houses.

My Venus is at 28º Aquarius in my Eighth House. My Ninth House Cusp is 28º Aquarius. My Venus is often interpreted as a Ninth House Venus for this reason, but I strongly relate to the Eighth House interpretations. Just my two cents.

Hmmm, so my Sun, Mercury and Neptune, the whole stellium is in my 3rd house....
My Merc saggy@3.32
Sun sag@4.28
3rd house cusp sag@4.54

I should look it up and see if it fits me better than being in the 2nd house!

Look at your screen name. Now look at the third house descriptions...

Honestly, I don't know you or your personality. Just found it amusing

Lol, that's cute and very appropriate! I do always hate how my responses are always long...it's embarrassing sometimes! But I guess I am gabby!!!
