For people who met their partners/SMs online, and were instantly attracted, did you notice any aspects which relate to this initial distant scenario? I thought it may be an aspect with Mercury, involving the romantic asteroids perhaps, e.g., Adonis/Mercury. IP: Logged |

For the most part synastry doesn't come into play until you meet someone face to face. Some very strong aspects may come through online, but the energy a person gives off is very much filtered through a screen or even a phone. I once tried to use meetup.com to match up people with good synastry (as friends- not necessarily romantic partners), but meetup took it down because they have a policy that you have to create a group where people meet up first. You apparently can't ask for birth info and THEN set up meetings. Bummer. IP: Logged |

??? I'm not sure what gave you this impression. Even with people I don't chat to and simply talk to on LL - I still feel the synastry. And many others do as well Besides, you can Skype, and video call etc.. which is basically like being in the same room. The one person I ever met in RL after only speaking online - was exactly as I thought they would be. I find the online2offline concerns outdated and old fashioned. quote: I once tried to use meetup.com to match up people with good synastry
I think it's different when you meet someone on a dating site - because you might spend very little time getting to know them, before you meet offline. When you take your time to really know someone - whether online or offline... the synastry still kicks in. Online interaction feels right at home for many young people, because we grew up with it - but I can see why the older generations would be skeptical or feel like it's not as good as what they see as 'reality'. I count Skype and things like that as face time though. I was really referring to things like email and IM and yes- even forums. But that's just my own opinion. It is very common for people to have great online relationships via email and IM, but then they meet and suddenly things feel too different. That's because when you're interacting with someone only by the written word you're to a great extent projecting your own image of that person onto the screen. Then you meet them in real life and even if they look just like the picture they sent you somehow the person doesn't match how you've come to know them online. Serial online daters know this and it's the reason they recommend meeting someone as soon as possible without prolonged extended chat beforehand. But there have been some relationships that have succeeded through IM and email for a long time before evolving though it's not very common. My blind date and I met online, not on a dating site but a different forum. We had quite a lot of rapport online before we met in person or spoke on the phone. Meeting in person was, of course, much better and confirmed that we liked each other and sparked off the physical attraction bit. But I think for him at least it was my writing that first attracted him. Not sure which aspects might have caused all this but he is very Mercurian and Uranian. I have Uranus in the 11th.

Storycorps has a lot of true stories some of which have been put to animation like that one. But I think that's the only one about an online romance. This one always brings a tear to my eye http://storycorps.org/animation/she-was-the-one/ IP: Logged |
