Anyone else that doesn't really like being in the public eye? I feel judged harshly. Every time I step out, it's like I can see all the crap of society. I have Pluto trine cancer mc Mars conjunct mc Neptune opposite mc Mercury trine mc Moon semisquare mc Chiron in 10th I put it down to my Chiron mainly. Afflicted Neptune makes me absorb m environment easily and it does drain me, I hate busy places and toxic people. IP: Logged |

Why do you feel judged harshly? It seems that you project your own insecurities or negative feelings onto "society" as a whole. Sometimes society sucks, for sure. But it's not all that bad. IP: Logged |

Yeah, I do have some fears, but the reality is, people do get judged harshly by society, society expects perfection or at least, some peoples minds are filled with so much crap, they judge those who do not fit ideals.

Yeah. All you can do is not give a damn. You'll always be judged anyway, so might as well be whatever you want to be; and try to enjoy it while it lasts.IP: Logged |

I had a friend who has social anxiety. He's awkward with new people and in large crowds. Sometimes, he needs to get away completely to have some space and experiences physical symptoms like nausea, cold sweats, vomiting, etc. He is currently seeing a therapist and is taking meds to ease the anxiety.Idk if it will be relevant but here are his placements: Aries sun square neptune He may be a Pisces or Aries moon and mercury (dont have the accurate birth time) Taurus venus Houses might play a larger role in describing anxiety in public. Probably something antagonizing the 10th house or its ruler? IP: Logged |

Hmmmmmm I hate busy places. If a place looks too busy I'll just leave. With Barbie, I'll stick it out if she wants but myself... I'd be fine just going on, which we do sometimes. If I'm at the store shopping for groceries and it's busy. I feel very aggressive. I won't say how so but yeah... I feel it. of course I keep that in check. Even if someone is rude... I'll stick it out. I just want to get out of there. Fastest way is peacefully. If for example I go in, sit down to eat. I want to sit at the edge of the room, or corner. Preferably so that I can see all around. But, naturally, I'll go along if there isn't a choice. I went out with my mom and barbiegirl19. We sat in the middle. Drove me nuts, but I didn't let it ruin the meal or anything like that. After some time passed that we had been done eating it started to show to my mom and barbiegirl19. They started to see my anxiety. I might be the only one who knows these things. Barbie notices sometimes like in busy shopping centers. No reason for these things really. Anxiety? Idk.... Possible contributors.. Pluto 1st conjunct asc Virgo mercury - Mars - Venus in 12 Plus.. Maybe Saturn in 11?

I think lots of people feel that. But they also feel that others don't. A lot of people are so wrapped up in themselves they don't really notice you at all if they don't have to (and forget you fast enough), and I believe some who do go around judging harshly do so out of defensiveness of being judged harshly themselves. I liked this quote from BtVS (Earshot): "Every single person down there is ignoring your pain because they're too busy with their own. The beautiful ones. The popular ones. The guys that pick on you. Everyone. If you could hear what they were feeling. The loneliness. The confusion. It looks quiet down there. It's not. It's deafening." 'Course true social anxiety (I'm talking crippling, not discomfort) is another matter. I know some Pisces moons have to back off though that's more about not "absorbing" too much of the pain of the people around them (or alternately they can dive into drugs to try to blunt their hyper empathy). I dislike the public eye, too. I feel panicky and anxiety. I honestly think I would have a panic attack if I ever had to speak in front of a crowd.I have Chiron conjunct descendant but it's in the sixth house. It's four degrees away. IP: Logged |

I was like this a few years back, but I'm getting more and more used to being in the public eye and I'm starting to even like it. Mercury and Jupiter are in my 10th (Jupiter conj MC). I think I've developed much better walls. Things don't affect me now, like they used to. SSS -

I've had to do this a lot lately. I completely understand because I used to be exactly like you ^. I'm giving a presentation at a conference next week. I'm so detached though. I'm almost desensitised. I'm not sure why I've changed so much - but I think it's partially *practice* - and being constantly put in these situations throughout University. Secondly, I've also (slowly) come to the realisation (as Pixie quoted) that we're all the same and deal with the same things. I still get nervous, but I'm much more calm and centred overall. Good points. I had to speak in front of a group last year. I didn't want to but I just sucked it up and handled it like a champ. Lots of praise and no one had a clue how I felt. I guess I like to be alone a lot. I don't fear the judgement. I just want to get on my way more than anything. So I probably don't fit this exactly. IP: Logged |

I used to feel the same way- I would get extremely nervous and almost have panic attacks before giving a presentation in front of class. Now? I love it! I teach so I give lectures all of the time. I have Chiron opp ASC so it was a long process but giving speeches energizes me. I don't really care what people think of me anymore and enjoy the spotlight. So, you never know, things can change.

Maybe, Bella. I am not required to do any public speaking though so I don't encounter any dilemmas about it. I just know how I was when I had to read in front of people in class. I am glad you feel better about having to give speeches in front of an audience, Odette It's a good skill to have! IP: Logged |

Chiron in the 10th here too. I don't like being the face of something, feeling forced because my boss thinks I'm well-suited to go and get up in front of people. For example facilitating a workshop, I met with a group of 20-40 new people every Monday for practically a year because they were downsizing their operations and the boss thought I was the one who should be put out there by myself (before me it was usually 2 or 3 staff who'd work with the group throughout the day, and I wasn't one of them). I'm awesome one-on-one, way awesome, and in a smaller teaching environment, but in front of a group or like I said the face of something, not comfy. Not comfy /at all/. Last time something like that happened I was sitting in on a q and a session, on the sidelines cos I wanted to see my boss speak, she's an awesome speaker and ironically i love watching really great presenters. Well she got called away by emergency so my direct manager goes up, and she calls me up there to help her out as shes going on, no biggie i think, and then uses that opportunity to leave me hanging because she hates public speaking more than I do, but she doesn't leave she just stands and smiles like a mannequin and lets me field the questions until our boss got back. I don't have anything in the 10th other than Chiron so that's where I'm laying blame :P The only other thing it could be is MC ruler Mars in the 3rd. But then again it's conjunct Saturn in the 3rd which rules 6th, so there ya go crappola all around. IP: Logged |

The worst thing I know about is if I'm in a crowd of people I KNOW and has to speak in front of them about something personal. I HATE that. I'd rather disappear. But having to speak in front of a big crowd I know nothing about? Don't care. I just hate how people I know would maybe judge me or think that I'm weird or something like that… I can get all sweaty and even get a tick somewhere in my eye and it feels like I'm going to die, really… I have a cancer ascendant and pisces moon in the 10th house. And my moon is pretty afflicted too, on the other hand my MC is also pisces, and my MC is doing pretty fine. I think it's just a matter about practise and learn how to not give a damn about other people and what they think about you. And I'm starting not to
