I dated many men before and I always come about as independent, my own-boss and self-sufficient kind of woman to them ( my Sagittarius Stellium to blame ), something which never provoked the need for gentleness, protection or tenderness in any of them...well except for his one special man...my current and steadiest Aries boyfriend. Is it a common trait in Aries men when they fall in love or is it something in our synastry ? Jupiter perhaps ? what aspects could cause this in your opinions ? here are his 4 major placements. Sun in Aries Mercury in Pisces Venus in Taurus Mars in Capricorn. I would appreciate any insights into this or any experiences. IP: Logged |

I was with an aries sun once with moon in aquarius. He seemed like he wanted to make sure he was the one helping me get to work or get to the store. He would drive me around and help out alot. In a sence he seemed protective. Super protective with his family neices. He would stand up for the under dog in a heart beat. He was rude sometimes but he meant well. Idk if that helps really. Just random info as i recal it. IP: Logged |

Thanks sweetie, that seems like my boyfriend too though he is the quiet type. I can see it's a common thing with them. IP: Logged |

I would say Aries people are more inspiring and influential than protecting. Protecting to me indicates, Cancer, Scorpio or Virgo (mothering signs). I am protective and have an Aries stellium (venus, merc, moon, MC) but I would say my protective side is attributed to one thing in particular...cancer Mars which is common for men with this placement but Aries may play a role here not quite sure. Typically Aries people (men) myself included look for stronger woman who can protect themselves. I've dated women I would consider don't have a backbone and it didn't work for me. IP: Logged |

I definitely agree and he said it himself the same way you stated it. that was what attracted him to me in the first place, my fiery independent Sag energy. I guess his Taurus Venus playing a huge part in this. IP: Logged |

Aries men ARE protective, but not in a maternal or paternal way like Cancer and Capricorn. They're like the typical manly man stereotype and they love being the knight in shinning armor for the woman they love. If he's protective like in a paternal way, then that's because of his Capricorn mars. I think cardinal signs in general are protective, but they show this protectiveness in different ways.IP: Logged |

Astrology aside, but any person who falls in in-love with another will become very protective of them(regardless of how "independent" the other continues to say they are). When we fall in love, we have found paradise, so it is very threatening to have the possibility of our "haven" being spoiled, disrupted or violated. So we protect it in order to conserve it. Astrologically, however, Aries is not so much "protective" as they are territorial: Picture a kid who wants the best toy and will not lend that toy to anyone no matter how loud they yell. This is not the same as "protectiveness" I see that he has the possessive sign of Taurus as his Venus and the regal Leo as his Moon. Both signs are passionate and "matter of fact" about what they have and don't like to play games. Both like to mark their territory so that there is no misunderstandings with other males. I wonder if his Venus and Moon are in square? His Venus in Taurus could be filtering in on the energies of his Moon in Leo. The Moon in Leo appreciates independent women. In fact, he prides himself of having to boast about how she can "do it all" -unlike some other women out there. It is only when his woman feels threatened that the Leo Moon is alarmed and is called upon to "roar" and make a fuss. That is when their more aggressive side shows up and ,yes, they also become very protective. The tendency to protect,by instinct,is Taurus. Taurus thinks of people they love as "possessions" and the more they value the person, the more protective they become towards them. Just imagine if your possession, something that you treasured very much, was ever vandalized? In order for you to prevent such a thing ever happening, your first instinct would be to be very protective. Taurus Venus can fall head over heels with a Sag Sun Woman, but doesn't know how to respond to her being so independent. It threatens him somewhat. Many women would appreciate him being so protective and so the Taurus man will ask her,in moments of frustration,"why can't you just let me pick you up after work?". To which the Sagittarius female will respond,"I have my own car!" This may be interpreted as the chauvinistic side of him that is showing up. But in actual fact, it is the fear that something that he loves may come to harm. This is Taurus' worst fear that he never wants realized. IP: Logged |

In my experience, Aries men AND women are protective...or at least got your back. That's not to be confused with constantly looking over your shoulder or not expecting you to look out for them as well. And a point you have to consider is how easily they can have their feelings hurt. They won't sulk like a Cancer, they'll ram you (hopefully metaphoric) over it. Maybe it's more accurate to say they'll fight with you and for you (but sometimes against you) rather than protective. But in some cases, like an authority figure over a child, it can come off as more stereotypically protective, especially as any spankings they choose to dish out on the one they're protecting don't seem contrary to being protective then. Lol weird during the last mercury retro in the winter I met someone with these exact placements (plus Pisces Merc-NN, Taurus Jupiter) but things fizzled out really quickly, although now that it's merc retro he's contacted me again... Anyway just wanted to say I can't really help much with your original question since I didn't get to know this guy very well but it seems to be a good combo of placements lol I think the Cap mars makes for someone who is classy and "traditional" enough to want to be protective in relationships... Btw I just read your guess the Asc thread and that's funny they were born literally a day apart and even sort of look similar.. Not the same guy tho don't worry IP: Logged |

Haha yeah that honestly crossed my mind too before I saw your Asc thread. But that picture confirmed it's not cause they're different ethnicities, my guy is half African-American... They honestly do have a pretty similar facial structure though, I'd post a pic but would feel too weird without his permission lol. Also I don't know this guys Asc either but he's either a Leo or Virgo moon, and I noticed from your new synastry your guy is a Cancer moon. Funny I assumed Leo too but maybe it's just the fiery Aries energy?

Me too but he has Cancer Moon in the 5th House that's why he comes off as a Leo Mooner and yes that would make his Fire Sun a singleton. oh btw, he is Italian. Are you and your SO from different ethnic backgrounds like us ? If so, Are Jupiter and Neptune pretty active in your synastry ? Try to ask for you S.O's permission and we can try to figure out his ASC together. IP: Logged |

A gentleman is a gentleman no matter what his sign is, a true man will be protective no matter what, even if the woman pretends she is Xena Warrior Princess. Protectiveness is not signed based when you are talking about human males that is socially and biologically their make-up. This has been scientifically tested.A man who is not protective of his family and/or girlfriend/wife is very unusual and weird... IP: Logged |

Well put, probably a mistress on the side if they aren't protective of their family/partner anyhow.
